FARM SCHOOL CURRICULUM GUIDE


AQUACULTURE
640 HOURS

Course Description:

This course is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and desirable attitudes of an individual in the field of Aquaculture with much attention and emphasis in
FARM SCHOOL. It covers four basic competencies such as (1) participating in workplace communication, (2) working in team environment, (3) practice career
professionalism, and (4) practicing occupational health and safety procedures. The common competencies are: (1) applying safety measures in farm operations, (2) using
farm tools and equipment, and (3) performing estimation and basic calculation. The core competencies are: (1) draw the layout plans for ponds, tanks, and cages, (2)
perform record keeping, (3)conduct pre-operations aquaculture activities, (4) changing water of aquaculture facility, (5) mortalities, (6) prepare and secure aquaculture
facilities, (7) prepare and maintain aquaculture facilities, (8) prepare and maintain fish nurseries, (9) feeds and feeding, (10) water quality and fish health management,
(11) harvest and postharvest handling, (12) prepare grow-out facilities, (13) stocking of fingerlings and stock sampling,  (14) performing feeding operations and maintain
good water quality, (15) harvest and post - harvest handling.
