Quarter 2-Detailed Lesson Plan in Science Grade 8

The lesson plan outlines a 60 minute science period to teach 8th grade students about comets, including identifying comet parts, understanding their orbit around the sun, and designing a simple comet model to demonstrate how the sun affects a comet's appearance. A variety of teaching methods like group work, games, and discussion are used to engage students in learning about short and long period comets, and how the sun causes comets to warm, glow, and disintegrate as they approach.

Group the students in to four (4), the group will be

You are only given 10 minutes to do the Activity.

Criteria for Evaluation:

Creativity - 40%
Strength of the model -20%
Ability to demonstrate - 40%

The procedures will be distributed to the groups.

After the activity, each group will do a

demonstration using your simple model in front of
the class. Each group will select two demonstrators;
one member is holding the hair dryer, the other one No Sir
