Chillalavagu Medium drain In Krishna Eastern Delta
the catchment is 10.3
runs for a
length of 12.6Km. It starts in the
area
Sq.miles and
villages limits of
Vakkalgadda and
runs through the
village limits of Vakkalgadda ,Challapalli,
Ramanagaram,
Gunderu drain at Km.30.2. 12 No's of minor drains in
Devarakota and finally empties into
falling into Chillalavagu medium drain .

The Chillalavagau Medium in Devi island

in Krishna Eastern delta are
very important role by
receiving excess water from the fields due to heavy rain fall or due to
the irrigation channels and coníluences either drawing of excess water from
Medium or major drains in the
vicinity and to avoids
flooding of adjoining fields. The surface fall of minor drains covered in divi island are almost flat and
the velocity is low. Due to this,
running of flood water/rain water takes considerable time to
confluence the medium and major drains and
River Krishna. The
finally to empty either by joining Bay of Bengal or
improvements to minor drains have taken up long back and due to this the drains
are silted
up heavily and the jungle was also raised o both sides of
obstructions to the free flow of water, thereby
slopes & banks causing
causing inundation of adjoining crops.
The people representatives, ryoths are
repeatedly requesting the departments to ake up the
desilting works etc., from time to time by using machinery. The desilting works are now propsed to
be taken up under'"operation and maintenance" by using machinery to desilt the minor drains to the
required depth only to relieve the minor drain from drainage congestin during heavy rains and
floods to avoid inundation of crops.

Keeping in the view of urgency and necessity of taking up the work estimate is prepared with
the following provisions.

The following provisions are incorporated in the present Estimate.

1. Earth work excavation from the bed.

2. Provision for GST @5%

3. Provision for Photographic charges and Bid documents.

4. Provision towards NAC@0.1%
