LESSON

Workplace Procedure is a set of written instructions or guidelines which

identify the health and problems that may arise from the jobs and tasks that make
up a work system.

Service Manual it refers to a book that is conveniently handled. It could be a

small handbook that shows an instruction on how to use a certain product, devices
or equipment.

Certification refers to confirming some properties of an object, person, or

organization. Often, but not always, this confirmation is provided through some form
of external review, education, assessment or audit. Accreditation is the certification
process of a particular organization.

A certification test is a credential test used to determine whether individuals

are sufficiently knowledgeable in a given occupational area to be labelled "competent
to practice" in that area, according to the National Council for Measurement in
Education. Example of certificates recognized nationally and internationally:
Computer Systems Servicing NCII or National Certification level II.

A product that satisfies a minimum set of regulatory, technological, and safety

criteria shall be granted type approval or conformity certificate. Type approval is
usually needed before a product is permitted to be marketed in a specific country,
and the specifications for a particular product may vary worldwide.

The Operations Manual is the documentation by which an organization guides

members and employees to perform their functions properly and efficiently.

The following are the importance of having an Operation Manual in the workplace:

1. It records the accepted standard procedures for the safe conduct of

operations to produce products and to provide services.

the organization.

The following are the safety working procedures that need to be considered in the
workplace

 The tasks to be performed in the workplace.
 The control measures that have been developed for these tasks.
 The training or qualification needed to undertake the tasks.
 The personal protective equipment to be worn.
 Action to be undertaken to address safety issues that may arise while
undertaking the tasks.

It is very necessary to conduct a given operation according to those procedures. The

table below illustrates various components and their associated performance
requirements to be able to define and determine risks to occupational health and
safety, as well as follow guidelines and procedures in the workplace with limited
oversight. The students will also be able to participate and contribute to the
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management issues.
