The Excel ribbon is the set of tools and commands through which you can perform
the different tasks that this software focuses on. It is located at the top of the Excel window,
below the title bar and above the formula bar. (Excel para todos, n.d.)

according to Excel para todos, the Excel ribbon is has a structure made up of:

1.1. Tabs:
Also known, together, as the menu bar, are the access buttons through which
each of the Excel tools are classified. taskbar

1.2. Group:
Within each of the classifications of tools defined by the menu bar, there are
different groups with specific functions or options, according to the section in
which you are at that moment

● Click the Ribbon Display Options button in the lower-right corner of the ribbon.

● In the menu that opens, click Show Tabs and Commands to show the Ribbon with all
tabs and full commands.

This option is the default view. While this option provides quick access to all the
commands, it limits the available screen space for your workbook.
Tip: Press Ctrl+F1 to show and hide your commands in the Ribbon.
● Click Show Tabs to display the Ribbon tabs without the commands. To access the
commands in the Show Tabs option, click any of the tabs
By using this option, you get the largest amount of screen space when you view your
workbook. To access tabs and commands in this view, click the very top of your workbook.
Tip: You can customize the Ribbon with your own tabs and commands for quick
access to the toolbar features you use most.
The Excel ribbon is the functional basis of the Microsoft Excel graphical interface,
because it allows and facilitates the user to find the relevant tools for each activity involved in
a job or project, that is, text customization, data search, page editing, function
implementation. , Among other functions.

All this is done quickly due to the arrangement of tools that the ribbon offers,
guaranteeing that the user can access, without having to resort to a complex access path, the
different options and functions of Excel.
4.1. File
In this tab are located, mainly, all those tools related to the storage of the file in the
equipment, as well as its printing. There is also access to the various options through
which certain Excel features can be modified.

4.2. Home
In this section you will find the basic and most used tools in the development of any
type of activity, such as customization options and text format, common commands
such as cut and paste, and other kinds of accesses related to data filtering, functions,
among others.

4.3. Insert
The tools on this tab are related to the insertion of, mainly, graphs or images, capable
of demonstrating the behavior of some data in an understandable way. This is one of
the most important sections in terms of descriptive statistics, due to the great variety
of figures that it allows to use when graphing a study. In the same way, it offers other
elements that facilitate the graphing of diagrams.

4.5. Formulas
Microsoft Excel has a large set of functions of different kinds, among which are:
○ Financial functions.
○ Logical functions.
○ Text functions.
○ Date and time functions.
○ Lookup and reference functions.

All of these can be found in the Formulas tab, where other types of tools are located,
such as arrow calculations and function auditing, through which you can control the
various operations implemented in the file.
4.6. Data
The Data tab covers the entire set of tools that allow you to modify, filter, organize,
and query your spreadsheet databases.

4.7. Review
This tab includes the options and tools for reviewing and protecting the text and data
contained in the spreadsheet file.

4.8. View
In the View Tab refers to the set of tools that allow you to modify the format of the
spreadsheet and its display.

4.9. Developer
The Developer or Programmer tab contains programming and coding tools, through
which you can program design macros for templates and use other types of plugins for
their development.

4.10. Help
In this tab, you can enter different questions regarding the implementation of Excel
tools, which allows the user to know how the options of this software can be used and
when to do it.

The Excel ribbon has visible tabs by default. However, there are other tabs that are
disabled and that can offer great utility, as in the case of the Developer tab. To customize this
element, we must enter, through the Options button of the File tab, to the Excel Options.
Once there, we can enter the Customize ribbon option, where we can add and hide various
tabs and even commands.

6. Conclusions
The interface is one of the most important elements of a program, since it depends on
it that the user can carry out his tasks without any difficulty, in a practical and simple way.
This is why Microsoft Excel has ranked as one of the most widely used spreadsheets in the
world, since its design is intuitive and allows easy use of its tools.
Microsoft Excel is one of the most widely used programs and knowing how to handle
it constitutes real progress with respect to a person's professional profile. It is a tool that helps
thousands of college students, undergraduate and graduate students, professionals and anyone
to be able to present information with the help of multiple tools in a spreadsheet that allows
manipulation according to the established purposes
