SECURITY OF TENURE

- Human rights law mandates that all persons possess a degree of security of tenure. No
employee can be dismissed from work except for a just or authorized cause and only after due
process.

It is a law which protects the employee na hindi basta basta matanggal sa trabaho, harassment and
other threats. Unless, may gawin na wrongdoing yung employee. Ig nag commit siya ng wrong doing
dito ma iinvalidate yung security of tenure. Wrong doing like misconduct, willful disobedience of
employers, fraud and commission of crime.

Work Days and Work Hours

- Work Day- refers to any day during which an employee is regularly required to work. Hours of
work refer to all time an employee renders actual work. The normal hours of work in a day is 8
hours. This includes breaks or rest period of less than one hour, but excludes meal periods,
which shall be entitled to overtime pay.

Yung workdays ito yung mga araw na pumapasok yung employee para mag work, usually weekdays ang
pasok ng mga employee Monday – Friday. Then work hours ito naman yung oras na kailangan icomply
ng employee kada araw na papasok sila, normal hours of work is 8 hours.

Weekly Rest Day

- A day-off of 24 consecutive hours after 6 days of work should be scheduled by the employer
upon consultation with the workers.

Weekly rest day eto naman yung araw or mga araw na need mag pahinga ng employee or day
off. Usually or most common dito sa atin sa Philippines is Saturday and Sunday ang weekly rest
day but may mga company or business na Sunday lang ang rest day nila.

Wage and Wage Related Benefits


- Wage is the amount paid to an employee in exchange for a task, piece of work, or service
rendered to an employer. This includes overtime, night differential, rest day, holiday and 13 th
month pay.

Yung wage is yung amount na sweldo ng employee para sa trabaho na nagawa nila. Then syempre may
mga wage related benefits din dapat yung mga employee gaya nunng 13 th monthpay

Payment of wages

- Wages shall be paid in cash, legal tender at or near the place of work. Payment maybe maid
through a bank upon written petition of majority of the workers in establishments with 25 or
more employees and within 1 kilometer radius to bank. Payment shall be made directly to the
employees.

Sa payment naman ng wage kailangan cash papaswelduhin yung mga employees, pwede din naman
through bank pero kailangan muna pag botohan ng mga employee yun if majority sila na mag vvote na
through bank sila papaswelduhin. Then yung wages binibigay siya twice a month.
