PANCOPASANA, ISKCON AND THE PERILS OF
SECULARIZATION

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur classified all

religions of the world by using the concept of
Panca-upasana. This scheme gives an
important understanding of the gradual
evolution of consciousness of a human being.
But the degradation of consciousness actually
goes through the same stages. Even though
ISKCON is supposed to preach and establish
the highest form of worship, in reality we see
that the rapid expansion of our movement
brings about different forms of worship
borrowed from the lower stages of spiritual
development. This manifest in different forms
of secularization of our movement. By
knowing this dynamic we can recognize
different deviations, and also safeguard
against them.

BHAKTI VIJNANA GOSWAMI

Bhakti Vijnana Goswami joined ISKCON in 1980 in
the former Soviet Union. For many years he headed
the translation of Srila Prabhupada's books in

member. In 2001 he took sannyas from HH
Radhanatha Swami, and in 2005 commenced the

PRAJALPA - IT WILL DESTROY THIS MOVEMENT

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

The main danger to ISKCON does not come

from outside. It rather comes from within,
with prajalpa being the root cause of
Vaishnava aparadha, misunderstandings,
conflicts, and disharmony in our interpersonal
relationships. This presentation will empower
us to avoid the pitfalls of getting caught up
in the eight kinds of prajalpa illustrated by
Bhaktivinoda Thakura in Bhaktyaloka.
Endeavoring to remove this destructive
tendency from our hearts will enable
our bhakti lata, as well as our communities to
thrive!

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

Based on Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam,

and the examples of Vaiṣṇava ācāryas, this

proclamation, but is tuned into developing
good character, and spiritually connecting
with God, oneself and others through selfless
service. Of course, apart from the mood, we’ll
also discuss some realistic methods &
favorable habits for studying shastra, and
effective ways of presenting it to multiple
types of audiences. Equipped with authentic

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS & TACKLING
DISTRESSES: THE BHAGAVATAM WAY

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

The great devotees whose stories are

described in Srimad Bhagavatam & Sri
Caitanya Caritamrita teach us by example a
wonderful 'de-stress' mechanism to deal with
'distresses', big and small. Also, their
attitudes and activities typify a spirited
culture and a plexus of love-laden
relationships prominently marked with
gratitude, kindness, tolerance, and empathy,
all pivoted around Krsna-Katha & Krsna-seva.
So let's take our baby steps to imbibe that
spirit of relationship building & handling

BHAKTI KIDS - A CURRICULUM FOR ENGAGING
CHILDREN IN KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION
Srila Prabhupada said that our children are
the future hope of our movement and of the
world. There is a need in ISKCON to engage
children in Krishna Consciousness, therefore
we would like to present a systematic
curriculum for communities around the world
to engage children in Krishna Consciousness.
What are the major principles of engaging
children in Krishna consciousness? How can
we start up a children's program? In this
presentation, we will share a Krishna-
conscious educational program for ages 7 - 12
with resources for parents, teachers, and
children. We believe that by giving children
fun, positive experiences in Krishna
Consciousness that we can help them feel a
sense of belonging, love, and happiness in our

literary alternative seems to invite members
of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's movement to
explore its hidden yet deep potential for both
devotional expression and outreach. It is
famously said that fiction is a lie but it tells
the truth. We can add that often it does so
quite emphatically. May we say that for the
postmodern audience of the current world
which believes more in description than

fiction can be equally, if not more, effective a
strategy for conveying the message of

IMPORTANCE OF PURE FOOD PRODUCTION,
THROUGH REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE AND
COW PROTECTION

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

Our central question here is, how the

leadership may help ISKCON as a society to
fulfill Srila Prabhupada's intention to have
self-reliant communities independent from
outside help. We are proposing that
systematic education on sustainable food
production may be an important key solution.
So, IMCPA is launching this foundational
course. It’s agreed on many levels that
successful functioning models within and
outside ISKCON may play an important role in
this local education process. In this
presentation, we plan to explore where Srila
Prabhupada's disciples are in this
development. After extensively visiting many
projects on different continents and trying to
understand the challenges on the ground
there is insight into where it is possible to
assist in practices with cow protection and
regenerative agriculture as a basis for
sustainable living.

HOW TO TRANSFORM YOUR TEMPLE TO A GREEN

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

There is a growing awareness and concern

about the environment, climate change, and
the impact of chemicals on our health.
Whereas, national and international
governments have been taking proactive
measures to tackle the above-mentioned
issues. It was the desire of Srila Prabhupada
that ISKCON and its followers practice the
principle of ‘Simple Living, High Thinking’ and
a natural way of life. While ISKCON is
recognized globally for taking this principle
to the masses, yet, it is also observed that
several ISKCON temples produce huge
amounts of plastics, and non-biodegradable
wastes and have incorporated unhealthy
practices in their operations. Several ISKCON
temples are grappling with steep energy bills

CULTIVATING DEVOTEES IN GATED IT CIRCLE
COMMUNITIES

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

Today the living trend in high-income class

societies has changed from large individual
big houses to sophisticated large gated
communities with world-class amenities.
Communities sized from 500 to 3000 houses
in tall buildings. The elite crowd living in
these communities are highly educated and
materially well-settled. However, along with
high-paying careers comes stressful lifestyles
and relationship problems. They are in
immense need of being part of a spiritual
path where they can manage their stress and
connect with a higher purpose to live. We
experimented with an approach to penetrate
these gated communities to build large Hare

One is kin, the other a stranger say the small-

a family. The essential implication of the
above statement is that considerations such
as "he is mine or he is another's" occur only in
the narrow-minded. To the open-minded, the
entire world is one family. Given the number
of continents and countries, Srila Prabhupada
frequently discussed how the world became
divided, perpetuated by the disunited United
Nations. He believed that the entire world is
confused because people believe that this is
"my land," "my America," or "my India.” In the
preface of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Srila
Prabhupada wrote: “We must know the
present need of human society which is no
longer bounded by geographical limits to
particular countries or communities. It is
broader than in the middle ages, and the
world's tendency is towards one state or one

ISKCON’S SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP: GEARING
UP RESPONSIBLE ACTION TOWARDS CLARION
CALL FROM MOTHER NATURE

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION
Grappling each household, global crises have
left no one untouched. The year 2022-23
brings us face to face with the challenges of
wars and conflicts; the long tail of COVID-19;
natural disasters -heat waves, floods, and

another year of a clarion call from Mother

ISKCON is choosing to respond to the clarion

ONLINE EDUCATION: HOW TO MAKE THE BEST OF
A BAD BARGIAN?

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

The development of online programs in

ISKCON can certainly be considered a
success of Srila Prabhupada's preaching
mission. At the same time, we need to
understand whether such online learning is
really the education that Srila Prabhupada
spoke about. What needs to be done to make
online education as close as possible to the
educational goals set by Srila Prabhupada?
Online education not only has its weaknesses
but also carries dangers. What opportunities
are there to make full use of the strengths of
online education? How can its weaknesses be
circumvented? How can the danger of such
education be avoided? These are the
problems that people of science and
education around the world are now thinking
about. While introducing people and inviting
them into the online education space, we
must foresee possible consequences and find
the best solutions for developing an online
education system within ISKCON.

NEED AND WAY FOR REVIVAL OF DAIVA
VARNASRAMA

ABOUT THE
PRESENTATION

Daivarnāśrama is the most important agenda

and but unfortunately mostly overlooked. So
it is the need of the hour to create awareness
about DVA in society. Srila Prabhupada gave
hundreds of instructions on this subject
matter. But if we trace back Gaudiya history,
For a long period of time, before Srī
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the whole society is
ruled by the smārta system which propagates
materialism, a seminal caste system, and is
against pure devotion. So the idea of Daiva
varnāśrama dharma was given by Srī
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself to his six
gosvāmi disciples. After that Śrīla Bhakti
Sarasvati Thakura preached extensively about
the Daiva-Varnāśrama system. His Gaudiya
newsletter and The harmonist are witnesses
to this and following his Gurudev, Śrīla
Prabhupada also preached so much about this
in his lectures, books, room conversations,
and morning walks. So as the followers of SP,
we should give sufficient importance to this
VENU GOPAL DAS topic and create awareness in ours. A lot is
there to discuss and implement. So I request
to keep the topic of “Daiva-Varnāśrma” for
plenary discussion.
