ENGINEERING’S REPORT
SUBMITTED BY:
Royal Bellagio is currently located at 5010 P Burgos, Makati, 1210 Metro Manila
I. Nature of Project
The project has an estimated land area and population (2005) of 2443
square meter and 18,174 persons (comprising employees and visitors),
respectively.
Septic tanks with proper functions have capabilities to partially treat the
wastewater coming from the hotel.
Domestic waste shall be consolidated into the main sewer line and will flow
towards the Grease Trap Separator. The grease trap separator is the first collection
tank of the domestic wastes. This tank opts to remove oil and grease that are
present in the wastewater. The overflow of the grease trap separator shall transfer
the wastewater into the first tank of the biological treatment.
The biological treatment of the system consists of five (5) tanks of two (2)
alternate processes required for efficient and normal treatment: aeration and
anaerobic process, respectively. With this process, microorganisms use the
organics in wastewater as food supply and convert them into biological cells or
biomass. The microorganisms involved in wastewater treatment are essentially the
same as those that degrade organic material in natural fresh water systems.
OZONATION
.
Ozonation is done on the fifth tank. The ozonation of wastewater effluents has
several advantages such as an increase in dissolved oxygen, decrease in chemical
oxygen demand, and improvement in aesthetic characteristics due to reduction in
turbidity and color, in which chlorination and UV radiation do not provide.
FILTRATION
Filtration is a process that removes particles and other media of a certain size and
larger from liquids. Removing these particles and debris from a wastewater
system allows the water to be reused within that system
Discharge or effluent of the treatment plant should pass the quality of the DENR
AO 2016-08 (Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluent Standards of 2016)
parameters with the category of industry under 55/Hotels, motels, resorts,
dormitories and other accommodation services. Table below shows the
requirement parameter of Royal Bellagio Hotel.
ACTIVITY SIGNIFICANCE
A. Monitoring Daily monitoring and reporting are required to
verify that treatment process is functioning correctly
and the effluent parameters are being met. Daily
results and activities will be logged as reference on
the efficiency of the system.
Scope of Work:
ACTIVITY 1: Conversion of the five (5) Septic Tanks into Aerobic, Contact,
Settling and Holding Tanks.
1. Wastewater will flow towards the first two (2) tanks, which will serve as
the aerobic tanks. For these tanks, venturi meters and necessary pipings will be
provided.
2. The aerated wastewater will then proceed towards the contact, settling and
holding tank, which has a contact time of 1 hour, which is manipulated, again, by
the control panel.
3. The effluent will then be pumped (Brand: Servtech) to the filtration
system.
ACTIVITY 3: Ozonator
4.1 Conduct ocular site inspection to gather details of the project; its vicinity,
conditions, data and relevant information about the environment.
4.2 Consolidation of the relevant details, data and information for the
preparation of a textual description of the existing environmental conditions at the
project site
4.3 Preparation of detailed description of the existing waste water treatment
process to include the following:
