SculpSure Cleaning & Disinfecting Manual

Care and Handling: System Exterior

Cynosure suggests that operators periodically clean the exterior of the laser system. Always turn
off the system before cleaning. When cleaning, wear protective clothing and eyewear according to
the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions.
Cleaning System Exterior, Umbilical, and Dock (non-client contacting parts).
1. Using a soft cloth, clean the exterior surfaces of the System as well as the Umbilical and Dock
with a mild soap and water.
2. When necessary, clean with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Cleaning Display Screen.
1. Prepare a mild soap and water solution.
CAUTION: Do not use any organic solvent, acid or alkali solution on the display or it
may become damaged.
2. Immerse a soft cloth into the solution, and then wring excess from cloth.
3. Wipe the surface of the display with the dampened cloth.
Cleaning Belt and Buckles.
1. Clean the belt and buckles after each use.
2. After use, remove the Belt from the Frame and rinse the parts with warm tap water to remove
any visible debris. Do not remove buckles from belt.
3. Soak the belt and buckles for at least 15 minutes in 70% isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol).
4. Remove the belt and buckles from the cleaning solution and allow the parts to dry completely,
for at least 15 minutes, before use.
Cleaning Pause Button.
1. Clean the Pause Button after each use.
2. After use, wipe the client-contacting surfaces of the Pause Button with a clean wipe dampened
in 70% isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol), such as Steris Septihol Sterile Alcohol Solution,
according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Discard the soiled wipe.
3. Next, dampen a clean wipe with 70% isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol), such as Steris Septihol
Sterile Alcohol Solution, and wipe the client-contacting surface thoroughly for two (2)
minutes. Follow this cleaning with an additional eight (8) minutes of continuous contact of the
wipe with the surfaces being cleaned—this may be accomplished with wrapping the wipe
around the client-contacting surfaces. Discard the wipe after use.
4. With an unaided eye, visually examine the surface to ensure all adherent soil has been
removed. Repeat the cleaning process if necessary.
5. Allow Pause Button surfaces to dry completely before use by either air-drying or with a lint-
free tissue.
