The Victorian Age was a very important era for England. The Victorian Age started in 1837
when Victoria became a Queen, and it ended in 1901.
In this time England experienced a time of growth, expansion and reform. The Victorian Age
was the golden Age in the English novels.
These novels started to talk about the reality in the world, social classes and crime. In this
time there was a lot of crime and crisis, the people were afraid of the levels of crime. It was a
"revolution", women started to have opportunities of education. The chaos appear because
of the inmigration, the crisis was because of the social classes. The industrial revolution has
influenced the growth of england. There was defined social classes and clasism. Actually the
literature became really importante, and the people were interested because the printing
appears. In My opinión this Age is very similar to our Age. Now in our present we have a lot
of crime, just like in the Victorian Age. Right now there si a lot of inmigration and murder. In
the Victorian age was a revolution of womans, they started to have more opportunities and
now in our age we are having a big feminist revolution too.
Charlotte Bronte was a woman that lived in the Victorian Age. She had a very difficult life but
she was an intelligent woman that always was looking for opportunities. Her development as
a woman was in the Victorian age, she was a writer. As we know in the Victorian age
literature became really important, that was good for her. Charlotte was a really important
writer in the Victorian age. She loved to write poetry, but she also wrote about things that
happened in the Victorian age. Her most famous novel was Jane Eyre. To Charlotte, being a
woman in the Victorian age means that she started to have more opportunities. Charlotte
looked for that opportunities and she studied and had an education.
She became a teacher but she wanted more , so she became a famous novelist from the
Victorian age. She was a new woman, she became what she wanted to be .
Jane Eyre was a novel written by Charlotte Bronte. It was a novel inspired in her life but also
it was a novel of social critic in the Victorian age. Jane was a poor woman and she was
alone but she wanted to be more, just like women in the Victorian age. She had a lot of
obstacles, like being judged because she was poor, in the Victorian age the social classes
were so important. She had the opportunity to study and she tried so hard to have a good
position in society. She became a teacher, and then she became a governess, she was
trying to be independent. She was a woman from the Victorian age, she realized that she
wanted to get married but she also wanted to be independent, to do things by herself. She
was an intelligent woman. She was a woman that valued herself. She fell in love, she wanted
to get married but she knew that she would not get married to a man that was married. She
knew that she deserved more.
In my opinion these two women are the clear representation of the Victorian era. Especially
they represents the development of women in that age, and how there were for womens. I
think that they can also be an inspiration for womens. I mean they were strong women that
wanted more and they lived in an important era for womens. I think that now we are in
another development for womens. Womens are looking for more and fighting for their rights,
just like womens in the Victorian era, like Jane and Charlotte. I think that Charlotte was trying
to make a social critic and conscience with her book, and at the same time she was trying to
inspírate other womens.
In conclusión i learned a lot of things about this era and especially about these womens.
This era seems to be really important and women had a development but even with this
development there was a lot of machismo. I learned about being kind with everyone , it
doesn't matter how much money they have. I learned that we should help each other. For me
as a woman I learn about fighting for my rights.
Also I really think Charlotte and Jane are an inspiración for me to keep trying and fighting for
what I want.
And that things are not going to be easy in life , and that we should look for the opportunities
we have.
