Course Description
Advanced Logistics Management follows and complements M&L 3380 Logistics Management, the introductory course in logistics . The
objective of M&L 4380 is to further students’ managerial knowledge of basic and more advanced topics in logistics. These topics explore
additional ideas in integrated logistics, customer service, logistics functions and global logistics. We will also work on 6 problem sets
designed to improve understanding of logistics management.

Course Method

Course materials will be delivered in three forms: videos, readings and problems. The videos are available on Carmen and must be viewed
by the dates prescribed in the course schedule. There are also weekly reading assignments from the textbook and readings listed in the
syllabus and also posted on Carmen. These must also be read by the date prescribed in the course schedule. The problems will be covered
during the weekly broadcasted classes. In some cases I will bring the problem to class while in others it will be posted on Carmen the day
before class.
At the beginning of each class, between 5:30pm and 5:50pm there will be a quiz. The materials for the quizzes include the videos,
readings from the book and articles) and problems assigned for the corresponding week. The dates and materials for each quiz are
detailed in the course schedule in the next page.
There are 6 quizzes and a final. All are closed book and closed notes. Questions will be multiple choice in various forms (multiple
alternatives, true-false, etc.). Only the top 4 quiz grades will be counted.

Students who get 100 points or more in all 6 quizzes get 50 extra points added to their score. If the student gets 100 or more points in 5
quizzes, 25 extra points.
