Gauge Views

• Gauge views show results in gauges.


– Useful for showing performance against goals

Gauge Type Description

Dial Shows data by using a dial with one or more indicator needles. Needles
change position to indicate where data falls within predefined limits.

Bar Shows data by using a simple bar. Bar changes color to indicate whether
data is within predefined limits.

Bulb Shows data by using a circle. Circle changes color to indicate whether data is
within predefined limits, operating similarly to a stoplight icon for thresholds.

Working with Gauge Views

1. Add a Gauge view.

1. Add a Gauge View

Click New View > Gauge and then edit the view.

Toolbar Toggle panes. Select gauge type. Select gauge size.

2. Set Layout

The Layout pane is similar to the Table Editor.

3. Manage Settings and Properties

• Manage gauge thresholds in the Settings pane.


• Click the Properties button to manage titles, labels, and
general formatting properties. Set limits and
tick marks.

Map View Components

• Map view components are configured by an administrator.


• A background map forms the basis for the view.
• Features represent areas or locations—for example, a city
or a point on a map.
• Formats define the rendering properties for a feature.
• Layers are collections of features and formats, and are:
– Mapped in metadata to subject area attributes
– Displayed on a content map
— Polygons describe areas—for example, states.
— Points describe specific coordinates—for example, street
addresses.

1. Add a Map view.

Display legend.
Click New View > Map and then edit the view.

Click the Properties button to manage:


• Canvas size and properties
• Available tools
• Interaction settings to add formats when drilling

Add formats to your map—for example, bar and pie graph.
