Crochet in cont inuous spirals wit hout joining t he rounds.


Put a marker (or use a scrap of contrast ing yarn) at the beginning of each round.
The finished product using a 4.5 mm crochet hook is ~15.3 inches / 39 cm wit h ears.

THE REQUIRED MATERIALS:


- yarn "Himalaya Dolphin Baby"
- black cotton yarn for a muzzle design and sculpt ing (I use a double Iris yarn)
- 4.5 mm crochet hook (or any different crochet hook t hat mat ches your yarn)
- 2 safet y eyes D=16 mm (you can use different eye beads to your taste)
- stuffing material (fiberfill/polyest er)

ABBREVIATIONS (US):
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
DC – double crochet
inc – increase – two single crochet in one st it ch
dec – decrease – two single crochet toget her

Ears (make 2):
The ear consists of two parts: the outer and inner parts.
The parts are crocheted similarly. Break yarn and secure it on the inner part and
leave the working yarn on the outer part.
Apply the inner part on the outer part and crochet through both loops with single
crochet.

The inner part (make 2 – with white yarn):


Work in back and forth rows. Chain 1 at the end of each row.

Break yarn and secure it.
The outer part (make 2 – with beige yarn)

Crochet the outer part similar to the


inner part but do not break yarn.

We need to join the inner part to the outer part, crocheting through both loops
with single crochet in a circle.
Hold the inner part of the ear facing you as you crochet.

Pay attention to the shape of the ears. Place the parts together on the same sides.
Make sure, that you crochet around the ears mirrored, so that the straight side of
the ear is from the inside as you sew it.

Do not stuff the ear.


Once you have attached the parts, fold the ear in half and crochet 2 sc through
both loops.
Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Upper paws (make 2):

Start with white yarn


1: Chain 2, and start crocheting in the
second chain from hook 6sc

Change to beige yarn

Flatten together and crochet 4 sc through both loops across.
Fasten off and hide the yarn tail inside.
Bottom paws (make 2):
Start with pink yarn
1: Chain 6, and start crocheting
in the second chain from hook 4sc,
6sc in the first chain foundation,
continue crocheting on the other side of the chain 3sc, inc.
In total, there are 15sc.

Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the


round and continue crocheting.

Tighten the hole with a tapestry needle. Break yarn and secure it.
Assembly
If you have not installed the eyes yet. then it is time to do it. Insert the eyes
between rounds 8 and 9. The distance between the eye stems is 8 sc.
Sculpt the eye sockets. I use a double Iris yarn.
Insert the needle in the middle under the muzzle (between white and beige colors)
and draw it out on the outer side of the first eye.
Insert the needle in the inner side of this eye, pulling it back under the muzzle.
Tighten and tie it into a knot. Sculpt the other eye socket similarly.
Do not break yarn.

Embroider the nose.


First, embroider V and then make a stitch across the muzzle.
The bottom point is between rounds 2 and 3.
The side points are between rounds 4 and 5.
Embroider inside the V with pink plush yarn.
Embroider the eyebrows.
Make one stitch on each outer side of the eyes with white plush yarn.
Embroider the eyelids with beige plush yarn.
Make one stitch on the eyelids with black cotton yarn to make the eyes look more
expressive.

Sew the head to the body.


Sew the ears between rounds 16 and 19.
Sew the tail between rounds 4 and 8.
Embroider the claws on the paws if desired.

Our rabbit is finished!
