NOTE
An officer is entitled to commute any fraction of his/her pension up to a quarter
to receive in lieu thereof gratuity to 15 years of the pension so commuted. If
you wish to commute the exact pension should be stated.

Please note that if you do not commute a quarter of your pension, you will not
receive any gratuity (lump sum payment) but unreduced pension from the date
of retirement.

If you commute a quarter of your pension you will be paid a gratuity (lump sum
payment) followed by reduced monthly pension from the date of retirement.
