Badminton Activity
A. Direction: List down four (4) equipment and one (1) facility based on your research which are used
in badminton and discuss their uses.
1. Badminton Court- The courts are designed to provide players with comfort while playing. When
playing doubles, the badminton court should measure 44 feet long by 22 feet wide, and 44 feet long
by 17 feet wide when playing singles. If the venue is indoors, the shuttlecock must have enough
height to float across the net without colliding with the ceiling.
2. Badminton racket- Badminton players use a light long-handled racket to hit the shuttlecock. The
stringed area, the head, the throat, the shaft, and the handle are the five major components or
parts of a badminton racket.
3. Shuttlecock- Many people refer to the badminton shuttlecock as the badminton birds or birdies. It's
the object that players use to hit back and forth over a net.
4. Badminton net- The Badminton Net is the most important part of a game of badminton because it
requires players to return the shuttlecock from one side of the court to the other throughout the
game. The nets for badminton span the entire width of the court, which is 20' (6.1 m).
5. Score board- A scoreboard is a board that is used to display the score, time, and statistics in a game
to the public.
C. Perform simple badminton routines. Make sure that you are alone and not to hit anyone or
things around! Answer the following.
1. What is the biggest challenge that you have encountered while doing the activity?
- Following and mastering the guidelines was one of the problems I had while engaging in the
badminton activity. I have a tendency to forget the rules while playing, which is why it is so difficult
for me to do this. However, I am confident that I can memorize and follow the rules correctly; I just
need to put in more effort. Another challenging obstacle I had was learning how to manage the racket
and foresee the opponent's next move, as well as thinking about or deciding what my next move
should be or how I should counter-attack.
2. Did you strictly follow the routines that you prepared? Explain your answer.
-Because it wasn't my first time doing this sports, It was easy for me to do it. I watched the videos
about badminton and made sure to take down some important notes about this sports. Some of the
routines are hard and some are not. You just need to enjoy and have fun while doing this activity so
that it wouldn't be that hard to do it.
B. Watch a video/s about the competitions in badminton. Write a 10-15 sentences reflection about
the video/s you watched.
- Badminton is a sport that requires you to use your complete body as well as your intellect to some
level. As you serve and sprint around the court, you activate your core, limbs, and brain. Badminton is
the world's quickest racket sport. This makes badminton not only thrilling to play, but also thrilling to
watch. Unlike many sports, badminton does not involve a ball instead, it employs a shuttlecock, a
feathered object that will serve as the target. You can increase your physical fitness by playing
badminton. Badminton also aids in calorie and fat burning. This sport also has significant mental
benefits, such as stress and anxiety relief. Badminton also has social advantages and also aids in the
development of reflexes. You will discover several principles that you can implement in your life while
participating in this activity. If you engage in this sport, you can develop characteristics such as ethics,
fairness, and honesty.
