evaluations and any disciplinary actions taken against him.

Case study No 3
Summary:
The district manager stated that Mr. Ahmed Nawaz, his executive
financial manager, who won the best performance award in 1999, is
facing a problem in his work performance, and he also has problems in
his behavior with other colleagues. The district manager asked human
resources to meet with the aforementioned gentleman to find out the
reasons.
After holding a meeting with Mr. Ahmed, who explained that he has a
family problem, as he has been married for more than five years and
has not had children yet, and his parents are pressuring him to
separate from his wife, whom he loves her very much, as he explained
in the meeting that when he requests any leave from his line manager,
he refuses it. Which annoys him and makes him nervous, and of course
this affects his dealings with his colleagues in the administration all the
time.
Identify the problem
- Lack of communication between managers and subordinates

3
- The presence of a behavioral problem for the employee
- A problem in applying the vacation system in the company
- No social organization
- There is no second line of leadership in the company.
Consequences of the problem
- Lack of productivity at work, which leads to a deterioration in the level
of management performance
- Poor working environment
- The loss of some qualified employees by submitting resignation
requests due to mistreatment.
Assumptions:
- The existence of continuous conflicts and problems with the
employees in the finance department, which creates a hostile
atmosphere between them and thus affects the work
- Mr. Ali Raza is feeling disappointed due to lack of understanding from
his senior managers and the pressure from his parents to divorce his
wife.
Analysis
- Mr. Ali Raza is feeling disgruntled and has lost interest in his job due to
a lack of understanding from his senior managers and the pressure
from his parents to divorce his wife.
- Here we have two problems, a behavioral problem related to the
employee, Mr. Ahmed, and it appears in his mistreatment of
employees in a blink, and here the Human Resources Department must
explain to him that he must modify his behavior because this will affect
his performance evaluations and his future promotions in the
company.
- The second problem is the lack of clear communication between the
direct manager and the presence of the social dimension in general in
the company’s system. Here, the human resources department must

4
pay attention to raising the morale of the employees by increasing the
number of gatherings and rapprochement among them and improving
the work environment.
Alternative Solution:
- The General Manager should ensure that Mr. Ali Raza is given
appropriate leave when needed so that he can manage any personal
issues without feeling overwhelmed or stressed out at work.
- The Human Resources Department must review and amend the leave
list and the system
- Preparing a monthly schedule for future vacations for all employees in
the finance department and informing the line manager of those times
to arrange work during vacations
- The necessity of creating a second line for managers.
- The General Manager should first provide him with emotional support
and understanding, and understand the challenges he is facing in his
personal life. Assure him that the organization values him as an
employee and is willing to support him in any way possible
- The General Manager should also talk to Mr. Ali Raza's parents and
explain the situation, emphasizing that their son is an excellent worker
and should not be forced into a decision he does not want to make.
- The General Manager should also talk to the senior managers and
explain that Mr. Ali Raza needs more support, understanding, and
flexibility in order to perform at his best.
- The General Manager should arrange for counseling sessions for Mr.
Ali Raza to help him cope with the stress he is facing due to his
personal problems. This would help him manage his emotions better
and improve his overall well-being
- The General Manager should recognize Mr. Ali Raza's contributions to
the organization and acknowledge his achievements publicly, which
would boost his morale and motivate him to perform better.
- The General Manager should set clear expectations for Mr. Ali Raza
regarding his job responsibilities, performance standards, and behavior

5
at work, which would help him focus on his work and improve his
performance.
- The General Manager should monitor Mr. Ali Raza's progress regularly
and provide feedback on areas where he needs improvement or
support.
Best Solution:
- My approach towards helping Mr. Ali Raza would be a combination of
empathy, counseling, flexibility, recognition, clear expectations, and
monitoring progress to ensure that he feels valued as an employee and
is motivated to perform better at work despite the challenges he is
facing in his personal life.
