This enclosure is part of the spare part kit "Input Tray",


with following spare part numbers*:
 CM+9 5178 4000 2 for CR 30-X 2nd, Type 5175 / 200 / 205 / 220 / 225
 CM+604210 0 for CR 30-Xm, Type 5179 / 100

It describes all necessary steps for the replacement.

* The last digit in the spare part number indicates the spare part revision at release of
this document. When ordering, the actual revision of the spare part is delivered.

Install the Input Tray* CM+604210 0 in CR 30-Xm, CR 30-Xm
Type 5179 / 100 only.

Install the Input Tray* CM+9 5178 4000 2 in CR 30-X 2nd, CR 30-X
Type 5175 / 200 / 205 / 220 / 225 only.
Note, that on the cover of the CR 30-X 2nd also a different name
can be printed. In this case use the type label in the rear of the
digitizer to confirm that the proper spare part is used.

1 Performing a Software Update at CR 30-X 2nd if Software is


below CIR_1203

NOTE:
The input tray which is part of Cassette opener
delivery has a cassette opener light sensor
light sensor mounted.
For CR 30-X 2nd: The cassette
opener light sensor is supported as
of software CIR_1203 only.
For CR 30-Xm: The cassette
opener light sensor is supported as
of software CIRM1102 (first
released software version).

(1) On the NX workstation log-off the current user and log-in as "crservice".
(2) Open the browser.
(3) Enter the digitizer IP address in the address window.

NOTE:
If the digitizer IP address is not known, look it up in the NX configuration tool:
 Double-click the icon <Start NX Configurator> on the desktop.
 Select: Load active configuration
 Go to: Devices > Digitizer Configuration
This page shows the digitizer IP address.
 Quit the NX Configurator (Close without saving any changes).

(4) Enter username and password (obtained during the classroom training).
(5) Check the displayed software version: If a higher digitizer software is available,
install this software.
Follow the instructions which are enclosed to the software ZIP file.

2 Removing the defective Input Tray

DISASSEMBLY: A
OFF
(1) Switch off the digitizer (A).
(2) Disconnect the cables (B).

(4) Pull out the cassette unit (B).

screws (B) a few turns.

(7) Disconnect the cable (B).

(11) Disconnect the connector at


the E-label of the cassette
fixation unit.

(12) Disconnect two cables (A, B)


at the Erasure Unit.
(13) Open cable holder (C).
(14) Remove the screw for the
erasure unit (D).
(15) Remove the erasure unit.

(16) Disconnect following cables


at the IP handling board:
P14, P11, P6, P5, P3, P1
(17) Open the corresponding
cable holders.
(18) Put the cables in the rear
inside the device.

(20) Remove two guide rail
brackets.

WARNING:
The digitizer may fall off the table. Injury or device damage possible.
Take care when pulling at the input tray.

(21) Pull out the input tray until


the stop.
(22) By turning the input tray left
and right a few times (A), A
and pressing with the
thumbs (B), remove the
input tray.

3 Preparing the Mounting of the new Input Tray

(1) Open the screws at the


L-brackets one to two turns.
(2) Shift the L-brackets to the
inner side.

CAUTION:
IP jams possible if IP guide plate is deformed.
Do not bend IP guide plate at removal.

(3) Remove the IP Guide Plate at


the new Input Tray.

(5) From the inner side of the input


tray, open two screws of the
guide fork approx. half a turn.
(6) Check the movability of the
guide fork:
It must be possible to move the
guide fork with little effort. open_screws_at_fork.cdr

It may also not be loose


however.

4 Mounting the new Input Tray

ASSEMBLY:
(1) Shift the input tray alignment
bar towards the two guide
pins as shown in Figure 20.

WARNING:
The input tray may fall down.
Injury or device damage
possible.
With extended rails, always
support the input tray manually, as
long as the rails are not properly
mounted yet.

(2) Insert the new input tray


(without mounted erasure
unit).
(3) Shift the input tray towards the
input tray alignment bar.
(4) Manually shift the rails below
the rear guide rail brackets.
(5) Close the input tray.
(6) With a hammer carefully push
the two guide rails below the
rear guide rail brackets.

(7) Mount the two guide rail brackets.


(8) Check following items:
 Input tray is properly fixed.
 Input tray has still parallel contact with the input tray alignment bar.
A clearance < 0,5 mm is still ok.
(9) Remove the input tray alignment bar.

5 Performing Adjustments for proper Locking of the Input Tray

(1) Shift the two L-brackets in


proper position: Distance to
the input tray locks  1 mm
approx. 1 mm.
(2) Fasten the L-brackets.

(3) Carefully open the input tray.


(4) Fasten the two screws for the guide fork.
(5) Open and close the input tray a few times:
 The input tray must lock properly.
 The movement must be smooth.

6 Completing the Replacement

(1) Mount the IP guide plate.


(2) Mount the erasure unit.
(3) Re-connect all cables.
(4) Close the cable holders.
(5) Mount the top cover.
(6) Mount the front cover.
(7) Switch on the digitizer.

IMPORTANT:
After switch on it is possible that error 4230 pops up, indicating a software mismatch
between the installed software and the software which was installed on the Handling
Control Board in production.
To solve this error, install the latest digitizer software:
 CIRMXXXX for CR 30-Xm
 CIR_XXXX for CR 30-X 2nd.
The software including installation instructions is available on the Agfa HealthCare
Library.

7 Performing a Stall Calibration for all Motors

(1) On the NX workstation log-off the current user and log-in as "crservice".
(2) Open the browser.
(3) Enter the digitizer IP address in the address window.

NOTE:
If the digitizer IP address is not known, look it up in the NX configuration tool:
 Double-click the icon <Start NX Configurator> on the desktop.
 Select: Load active configuration
 Go to: Devices > Digitizer Configuration
This page shows the digitizer IP address.
 Quit the NX Configurator (Close without saving any changes).

(4) Enter username and password (obtained during the classroom training).
(5) Select the service menu: <Stall Calibration>
(6) Select: All Motors CR 30-X Service
(7) Wait until the stall calibration Stall Calibration
is finished.

8 Performing a Backup

(1) Press both buttons at the feed A


table (A).
(2) Pull out the cassette unit (B).

(8) Plug-in the USB flash drive.


(9) Close the cassette unit.
(10) Switch on the digitizer.

(11) On the NX workstation open the browser.


(12) Enter the IP address of the digitizer in the address window.
(13) Enter username and password.

(14) In menu <Backup> select


<Complete backup> and
<SAVE TO USB>
(15) Unplug the USB flash drive
when the message is
displayed: Remove USB
flash drive.
(16) Select menu <Logout> and
follow the logout wizard.
(17) Close the browser.

(18) Put the USB flash drive back in its cover and mount the screw.
(19) Mount the top cover.
(20) Close the cassette unit.

9 Verifying the Replacement

(1) Open and close the cassette unit: It must run smoothly.
(2) Check the distance of the front cover to the side covers: The distance must be
equal at both sides.
(3) Pull slightly at the closed cassette unit: It must stay closed.
(4) Login to the NX workstation with user "crservice".
(5) Scan an unexposed cassette.
(6) Reject the image.
(7) Logout user "crservice".

Result The Input Tray is replaced.
