Set the radio to communicate with a repeater at 146.780– MHz, 100.0 Hz
0. Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked 6. Set the transmit tone frequency (T-CTCS)

5. Set the repeater shift direction (SFT-D)

Store the current repeater and tone settings in a memory channel


0. Follow the procedure above to set your radio 2. Store the frequency in channel 36
for the frequency of your choice

1. Clear target memory channel 36
Hear “receiving memory”
M ENU - 28 - M ENU - 36 - M ENU - EXIT
press %
Hear “delete channel”
M ENU - M ENU - M ENU - EXIT

Hear “transm itting memory”

press %
Now stored in m emory channel 36

Recall a stored memory setting


1. Press VFO/M R (channel mode)

2. Press the up or dow n arrows or enter the


three-digit channel number (all three digits)

0-3-6

The stored channel is now ready for use


Set the radio to communicate at 147.480 MHz simplex
0. Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked 7. Clear target memory channel 5

1. VFO (frequency mode) M ENU - 28 - M ENU - 5 - M ENU - EXIT

2. Select the upper display Hear “delete channel”

A/B 8. Store the frequency in channel 5

3. Set the frequency M ENU - 27 - M ENU - 05 - M ENU - EXIT

1-4-7-4-8-0 Hear “receiving memory”

4. Turn off the repeater shift direction (SFT-D) press %


M ENU - 25 - M ENU - OFF - M ENU - EXIT M ENU - M ENU - M ENU - EXIT

5. Set the transm it pow er level Hear “transm itting memory”

M ENU - 2 - M ENU - HIGH - M ENU - EXIT press %


6. Optional: turn off the TDR (I would, at first) Now stored in memory channel 5

M ENU - 7 - M ENU - OFF - M ENU - EXIT
