DIY CAD Designer Introduction
1. Introduction
Welcome to DIY CAD Designer. DIY CAD Designer helps you to quickly create your
blueprint. These operating instructions will help you to find your way around easily. I
wish you a lot of fun and success with your projects.
2. Start window
Figure 1 shows you the start window. In the start window you can use the "Start" button
to create your first construction. You will also find a direct link to my homepage. You can
also set the language of the software, close the software under "Exit" or view the privacy
policy. You will also find links to my social media channels at the top right.

DIY CAD Designer Overview
3. Overview
Figure 2: Overview
Figure 2 shows the main scene of DIY CAD Designer. In the top bar you can switch
between the views: Home, File, Edit Model, View, Material, Tools and Help. The bar below
always shows the functions of the selected view. Here in the "File" view you can create,
save or load a project. You can also import or export projects to share with colleagues or
friends. It is also possible to import CAD models from other tools (Figure 3 shows how an
OBJ file was imported into the DIY CAD Designer). The following formats are supported:
FBX, OBJ, GLTF2, STL, PLY, 3MF. The bar at the bottom shows objects that you can
drag directly into your scene. There are basic bodies as well as wood, metal, stone, glass
and other components that you can drag directly into your scene as objects.

DIY CAD Designer Controls
4. Controls
Figure 4: The main control of DIY CAD Designer takes place on the PC using the mouse
and keyboard. Use the W, A, S, D keys to fly forward, sideways and backward. Q, E help
move up and down. With the right mouse button you influence the direction of view and
with the left mouse button objects or functions can be selected.
5. Edit Model

DIY CAD Designer View
The actual construction takes place in the "Edit Model" view. Once the first objects have
been dragged into the scene via the library in the lower bar, they can be positioned,
rotated or scaled. This can be done in the scene itself using the selected function and the
mouse. Or the values can also be entered directly at the top right of the respective entry.
With the "Snap" command, corner points of other objects can be approached directly
during translation. Objects can also be copied or deleted again. There is an undo and
redo function. The unit of measurement can also be set between meters and feet.
6. View
Figure 6: Here is a top view shown. The view can be influenced in the view menu. There
is an orthogonal or a perspective view. The camera controls can be changed to an orbit
view. Direct views can be jumped to, such as top view, side view, front view or back view.
The background can also be changed. Or the measurement of the objects can be
deactivated here.
