UNIT 6: We love it!

What sport do you like best? Why?
Honestly, soccer is my favorite sport. I love soccer. I love watching the shows about this sport,
especially the soccer tournaments. I usually play soccer with my friends in my free time.
Do you like soccer? Why or Why not?
Yes, I do. Soccer is my favorite sports. I play it with my brother when I was young and play
soccer make I healthier.
What do you like for your meals?
I like to eat homemade food that includes rice, fish, bread, meat, vegetables, noodles, salad
because it’s good for your health and I’m happy when I’m cook.
What do people in Vietnam have for their meals?
They have Banhmi, Pho and Milk Ice Coffee for their breakfast. As I know, they always have
rice for their meals.
Can you say some things that you can buy at a market?
Yes, actually there are many things that you can buy at a market. I can buy foods for meals like
meat, milks, vegetables, noodles,… and it’s also cheaper than in the supermarkets but you need
to learn how to bargain in the market.
Is there any local markets near your house?
Yes, Thu Duc market is the only one local markets near my house. I often go to the market with
my sister to buy some foods.
UNIT 7: Daily life

Which months is summer/ winter in Vietnam?
Summer is rainy season, lasting from May to November.

Winter is from December to early February. As I know that January is the coldest month of the year.
Can you describe the weather for seasons in Vietnam?

Vietnam is a tropical country and in the Central and the South, there are only two
seasons: the rainy and the dry. The rainy season lasts from April to November. It’s hot
and humid. The dry season starts in December and ends in March, it’s very hot and dry
without rain.
In the North of Vietnam, there are 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. In
spring, the weather is quite comfortable and warm. At that time, trees and flowers start
blossom. In the summer, the weather becomes hot and sunny. Next season is autumn,
when it becomes mild and cooler. The winter is the coldest season of the year and it is
very dry.
What activities do you often do in the summer/ winter/ fall/ spring?
SPRING: My favorite season is spring because I can get lucky money from my parents, my
sister,… I can go camping or travel with my family before Tet holiday.
SUMMER: In summer, I often go swimming, fly a kite on Ham Thu Thiem or go to the beach
with my friends in my free time.
FALL: In fall, the weather is cloudy and nice so I often go to school, play badminton in Gia
Dinh park with my friends.
WINTER: In winter, the weather is very very cold so I just relax like stay at home and sleep or
watch football matches on TV with my brother.
Do you like hot or cold weather?
I hate cold weather. Because I can stay at home for no reason and sleep all day or watch football
matches on TV with my brother.
What do you do when it’s sunny?
Well, sunny day is the best weather to do some outdoor activities. I often go to the mall, buy some
food at the market or go to the park to play badminton with my friends.
Are you in any clubs in your university?
Actually joining clubs in university isn’t my thing. Because I’m busy with my parttime jobs and
homeworks from schools.
What is your favorite animal? Why?
Dog is my favorite animal. When I was young, my mother bought me a puppy and his name was
Lucky. Actually I impress by the cute look of Lucky.
UNIT 8: Work and Study
What job do you want to do in the future?
My dream is become a business analyst. Now I am study Information Technology and later on it
will help me get closer to that dream.
Do you work inside or outside?
As a business analyst, I work in office.
Does your university open on Sunday?
My university is opens every day of the week. But the library just opens from Monday to
Saturday as I know.
Does your school have a café?
My school doesn’t have a café.
What time do you start and finish your classes?
My classes start at 7.00 am in the morning and finish at 10.30 (half past ten) and at 1.00 pm in
the afternoon and finish at 4.30 (half past four).
What do you watch on TV?
I often watch TV drama series and reality shows in my free time. “2 ngay 1 dem” is my favorite
reality shows and it just finished season 1 2 week ago.
UNIT 9: Travel
What do you usually wear for at the university?
When I am at the university, I usually wear casual clothes – simple and comfortable. A pair of
jeans and a shirt would be perfect.
How many T-shirts are there in your wardrobe?
Actually I don’t remember how many T-shirts I have in my wardrobe. I think it’s more than 5 T-
shirts and it’s all black or white. I have very few colorful shirt in my wardrobe.
What do you take with you on holiday?

Actually there are many things i want to take with on holiday. The most important things is
money and cards. Accessories like headphones, book or snack can’t be forget too.
Which one do you prefer plane or train when you travel?
I prefer travel by train. I can enjoy the journey in my country by looking through the window
and enjoying the sights. Actually I love the sound it make too.
Do you often take a bus to school?
Yes, I take a bus to school about 4-5 times a weeks. The bus station is near my house, I don’t
want to stuck in the traffic and I can save money too.
How often do you travel?
Usually, I go on a trip on holidays when I have free time. You know, it’s a great way to relax and
relieve stress.
When you travel to a new place, what do you want to do/eat/see?
DO: When ever I travel to new place, I want to visit and take a lots of picture because I want to
keep memoríe in my phone.
EAT: When ever I travel to new place, I always find on the internet the famous local food to
have a taste.
SEE: When ever I travel to new place, I want to see the iconic or history landmarks, museum in
that place.
UNIT 10: Famous people

Can you name a famous person in your country’s history? Why was he/she famous?
The first President of Vietnam was Ho Chi Minh – a famous person in my country’s history.
Who were important leaders in your country’s history?
General Vo Nguyen Giap was important leaders in my country’s history. He helps Vietnam
defeat both France and the US.
Who was your best friend when you were young?
Hung (tự đổi tên nha) was my best friend when I was young. He at the same age as me and live
next door to me. We often play soccer together.
Which subject were you good at at school?
I good at math at school. I’ve always had good intuitions when it comes to solving math
problems. I am happy when I study math and I always get high score about this subject.
Was English your favorite subject?
To be honest, English wasn’t my favorite subject. I wasn’t good at English but I know it’s
important in the future so I was try to improve my English.
