The Squirrel and The Lion

There was once a happy squirrel. He was always looking for nuts. He carried
them to his hiding place. Which was a hold in a tree.

Under this same tree, a lion used to come and rest every day after he had eaten.
The lion watched the squirrel. He could not understand why it looked so happy.
But he was too proud to speak to a simple little squirrel.

One day, the squirrel slipped and fell onto the lion. The lion was asleep at that
time. He was very annoyed at being woken up. The squirrel was very frightened.

The lion roared, “Roar, how dare you disturb my sleep!”

“Oh, forgive me, oh great lion,” pleaded the squirrel.

“Forgive you? Ha…ha…ha…I should eat you instead!” said the lion.

“Oh, squirrel, I will let you go on one condition. Just tell me why you little animals
are always so happy. I don’t feel happy most of the time.”

“All right, all right.” said the squirrel. “But you must put me back on the tree
first.”

“All right, but don’t trick me.” Said the lion.

The squirrel quickly climbed up the tree. Then he said, “I am happy because I
have a good heart.”

“Hmmm! Are you saying that I have a bad heart? Roar….”

“Oh, great lion, look at what you eat every day. You kill other animals but I only
eat nuts.”

The lion became angrier and wanted to eat the squirrel. The squirrel quickly ran
up the tree. He shouted at the lion. “Hey, Lion, remember, if you have a good
heart, you will be happy!”

So all my friends, the moral of my story is to be happy, you must be good to

others.
