DAB Retrofit

For that you can be able to retrofit DAB to your Astra J, you have to check the following things:

- That you have the areal on your rear windscreen.


(if you do not have it, you have to change the rear windscreen)
- That you have the Wiring in the front for the DAB module.
If you got his, you need some parts:

- Bracket for the DAB module


(if you got the CD400 with the USB port, you should have this already)
(have not checked my self, but stated many times on the thread)
- Screw
- Mutter
- Rear DAB antenna
- DAB module (have a check what your country is running, if it is DAB og DAB+)
- Antenna lead

(My car is fitted with the DVD800 unit, so i needed all the parts above)

The first you have to do is the following.

1. Remove the side of the glove compartment, just push it away.


(i have a lefthand drive car)
2. You will then find the hidden bolt that holds the glove compartment. (loosen the bolt)
3. Find the other bolts (should be 3 or 4 more bolts when you open the glove compartment)
4. You should now see the antenna lead and the wiring connector to the DAB module.

5. You should now see that the bracket for the DAB module is missing
6. Fit the bracket for the DAB module, with the parts you have bought:
- Screw
- Mutter
- Bracket
7. Fit the DAB module in the bracket and connect the leads.

8. When your done fitting the DAB module and wiring you can fit the glovebox.
9. Now you have to fit the rear things.
10. The first thing we have to do is remove the dummy DAB antenna.

11. And fit the DAB antenna


12. If your in luck you will have the DAB antenna lead there, if not you have to fit one.
(it was not there on my car, so i had to fit one)

13. I bought my antenna lead on Ebay


(FAKRA KABEL 1 m Verlängerungskabel für die Antenne mit FAKRA Anschluss)

14. When you have fitted your antenna lead you have to feed it trought the boot lid and down
the spiral connector to the roof, and there you will find the connector beneeth the headliner.

15. Fit the connector and fit the car back together.

16. The last you have to do is to program the DAB to your car.
(get someone that can do this for you or go to your dealers garage and they will do it for you)

This tutorial is for the 5 door hatchback!!!

The DAB antenna is fitted on the rear side windows on some cars.

For the 2012 and nevers Astra J you have to get the VCI code to program the DAB to your vehicle!!!
