A. Introduction Treasure Hunt:
Unlock the treasure chest by guessing the hidden words.

It is a word or an expression that modifies or provides
description to a verb, an adjective and another adverb

B. Development Read and understand the selection.


It is Sunday morning. Alliana woke up early
because today is her birthday. She’s so excited because
their family will go somewhere. They happily prepared
foods and packed all the stuffed needed for the trip.
They put them inside their bags carefully. And checked
if they didn’t forget anything. They waited patiently for
some of her cousins before they go. Here they are!
At exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning, they left home.
They ride in a van. Alliana quickly sits beside her
cousin Sheena because they love chatting and missed
each other so much. After thirty minutes of travelling,
they are now in Calatagan Beach one of the newly-
developed resort in Batangas. They looked around and
see the beauty of place. They swim, eat, play and enjoy.

They went back home with a smile on their faces.


Spending the day with family and loved ones is the best.
For Alliana, it is the happiest day indeed!

Adverb of Manner
it describes how the action is carried out in the sentence. It answers
the question HOW
Example:
1. She greedily ate the pizza.
2. You need to run carefully if you don’t want to get hurt.
3. Jenny went home sadly after hearing the news.

Adverb of Place
tell where the action is done. It indicate location or movement.
This may be one-word adverb or adverbial phrases. It answers
the question WHERE
Example:
1. I searched everywhere but I cannot find a green stone.
2. She travelled around the world.
3. My friend’s home is nearby the station

Adverb of Time
tell when the action happened for how long. This may be one-
word or phrases. It answers the question WHEN
1. Last Sunday, the pupils attended mass.
2. I was late yesterday for my meeting at work.
3. She came here last night.
