Successful Strategies:

It is widely known in the Visayas and Mindanao

and even in Luzon that the Ceres Line,

Rural Transit and Bachelor Express of the

Yanson Group is very popular in terms of
bus/land transport.

The success of the company is a rags-to riches

story from a simple jeepney unit purchased in
1968 by husband-wife tea Ricardo and Olivia
Yanson of Negros Occidental.

The company stand and stays with their Vision,

Mission, Slogan and Core Values.

Vision:

“By providing safe, comfortable and

dependable buses, we make sure that people
and goods can move to different geographical spaces of the archipelago, contribute to our national
growth and help preserve the patrimony of the Filipino nation”.

Mission:

"We are a land-based transportation company, engaged in a bus body assembly and

engineering, and our sole purpose, both in mind and heart, is to passionately serve the riding

public from all walks of life.

Slogan:

"First In Service, Foremost In Fleet Maintenance”

Core Values:

WE believe in the value of HARD WORK; that perseverance and persistence in achieving

personal as well as organizational goals are important.

Providence and without HIM, none is possible.

WE commit ourselves to have unceasing and unwavering

PASSION FOR CONTINUOUS

IMPROVEMENT in all our undertakings, may it be personal,

organizational and for our country.

WE implore the help and intervention of our ALMIGHTY

GOD, to guide us always, and light our paths, so we will be in
safe hands.

With these Company CORE VALUES and DIVINE

PROVIDENCE we will be able to achieour VISION,
MISSION and GOALS.

Services

The bus company is a family-owned and managed business that has grown from a lone 14-seater
jeepney plying a single route called Ceres Liner, to a conglomerate of transportation companies.

With a combined number of operating units of 838 transport vehicles as of January 2010,
operating and serving in the Visayas, as well as the Zamboanga Peninsula in Mindanao. The
company pioneered inter-modal services between Negros and Cebu.

II. Overall Practicum Experience
In the first two weeks of my internship, I was able to develop a sense of
diligence in every work assignment given to me. Adding the extra care
means being always attentive to present the situation, keeping the mind
focused with what is currently handled, getting particular with every single
detail without missing anything. This is the first thing that I must remember
while doing the bookkeeping. I learn about the basic terms and concepts
associated in different activities which our helpful in understanding it’s
relation to other transactions and work. Lastly, I learned about some rules
and procedures that should be strictly exercised and practiced. Sometimes,
I was stuck with ample works to do all at the same time. At first, I found it
so hard considering which task must be given priority that I forgot some
other things undone.

However, I am already acquainted with the routine and can manage to

handle different works efficiently and effectively all at the same time, with
fewer worries as to committing errors. Upon working with the activities
above, I knew about many benefits that the SSS have offered to those
covered members or employees who already qualify to claim them, such as
retirement, death, permanent disability, funeral, sickness and other benefits.
When you are new to something and have less idea with what you are
supposed to do it, waiting for an order or request is way too better for the
meantime than doing things you don’t know anything about. As of now, I
get all works done smoothly with minimum of supervision. Once a piece of
paper is placed on the table, I immediately work my hands on it.

This far, I learned about the schedule of employees’ and employer’s

contributions in connection to their monthly salary credit and monthly
contributions. I was able to do a certain work less than the required time
effectively and efficiently.

Everything does not merely revolve around the work alone all the time. So
far, I’ve bee an already familiar with the organization’s culture, work ethics,
rules and policy, and values which I should conform myself to as being
temporarily part of the organization. I was made to realize that the scope of
our work should only be limited to what our supervisor had instructed us to
do, regardless of how much I know it. Sometimes, we make things and
decisions in our own when we think we’re good at it without prior
consultation to the one in authority. I disregard the possibility that somebody
else might be held accountable for whatever
consequences my own acts would have resulted.

III. Organizational Operations

Pursuant to the by-laws, the company’s stockholders led by co-founder and matriarch Olivia V.
Yanson held the annual stockholders meeting at the company’s principal office at Ceres

been duly elected and qualified.

Following the election of the directors, the board held an organizational meeting and re-appointed
Leo Rey Yanson as the president of the company and Olivia V. Yanson as treasurer and corporate

IV. Conclusion
Frome February to May. I did an internship at Vallacar Transit Inc. It was
good experience and help me understood how to be have a good schedule
and to be an office workplace. I liked it as well because it fit my schedule
well and I was able to to have a memorable experience. I think that the
overall, the internship was successful and helped me with skills in the long
run.

I managed to cultivate a sense of diligence in every task that was entrusted

to me. Taking additional care entails being always alert to the circumstances
at hand, maintaining mental focus on the tasks at hand, and paying close
attention to every last detail to avoid missing anything. The first thing I need
to keep in mind when conducting the bookkeeping is this. I gain knowledge
of the fundamental terminologies and ideas connected to many activities,
which are useful in comprehending how they relate to other dealings and
labor. Finally, I gained knowledge about a few guidelines and practices that
should be properly followed. I occasionally had a lot of tasks to complete at
once. I found it so hard considering which task must be given priority that I
forgot some other things undone.

Everything does not merely revolve around the work alone all the time. So
far, I’ve bee an already familiar with the organization’s culture, work ethics,
rules and policy, and values which I should conform myself to as being
temporarily part of the organization.

I was made to understand that, regardless of how much I know, the breadth
of our task should only be confined to what our supervisor had told us to
perform. Sometimes, when we believe we are competent in doing
something, we take action and make decisions on our own without first
consulting the person in charge. I ignore the
prospect that someone else could be made
to pay for the repercussions that my own
actions would have brought about.

V. Recommendation

Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) is the largest land transport company in

the Philippines. It comprises Vallacar Transit, Inc. It Is a great opportunity
If the next CABECS students who wants to Internship In this company. On
the job training is indeed vital and necessary to students because the program
expands the students knowledge as it helps the students explore their skills
inthe actual work area. OJT is the launching step to astudents actual working
experience .The trainee canpractice applying the lessons learned from the
years offormal educations and discover that they are still a lotmore to learn
from the actual working field.

To improve the OJT program of the CABECS department. I recommend is

To provide realistic job for our OJT trainings, Conduct effective job
orientation and initial training, Offer career and development training, The
objective of keeping two time industrial training is to provide opportunity
to the students to undergo specialized industrial training in the area of
interest where they would like to work in the future and lastly the
preparation for the upcoming OJT students should be set earlier in order to
not delay the practicum student by starting early, students can get an ample
amount of time to start the training.
