December Teachers Training Report
[1] Context:-
So this was a prior effort of workshop, was initially done which put a sturdy base for the
teachers on learning, planning and visualizing classes.
In this regard, AIF (LAMP) team had a discussion with the DEO and resource persons of
respective Blocks to know about teacher’s demand Hindi language, Math teaching
issues/problems where they got into chaos with pedagogical approaches especially FLN and
NEP 2020.
Workshop
Then DPM, Resource Persons, CMs, EFs of AIF (LAMP) discussed collaboratively on objectives and
designing of the schedule for the One Day Non Residential Govt. Teachers Orientation cum Training
Program.
To equip the teachers with varieties of activities in teaching and learning especially in
Math and Hindi as per FLN and NEP 2020 guidelines.
To strengthen the teachers in planning and visualizing lesson.
Preparing concept /mind map, designing worksheet and knowing learning gaps.

Day-1 Session 2- 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM:- NEP 2020 Changes & Challenges
New education policy is formulated by the government of India aiming towards achieving the policy
initiatives by 2030. It is a complete change in the existing education policy which was last implemented in
1986. It is focusing on the self-capabilities of child and concept-based learning, instead of rote learning
procedures.
School Education
The 10+2 module is replaced by 5+3+3+4 model. The execution will be carried out as:
Higher Education
The bachelor's programme would be a 4-year programme with a flexible exit. Obtaining a year
course will provide with certification, 2-year with a diploma degree, 3-year with a bachelor's
degree, and 4-year will be integrated with the research work and finding related to the subject
studied.
Higher Education Grants Council (HEGC) for providing funds and finances to universities and
colleges. This will replace AICTE and UGC.
The responsibility of the national testing agency to hold common entrance for universities and
colleges along with conducting NEET and JEE.
Master of Philosophy courses to discontinue, as it was an intermediate course between Masters
and Ph.D.
National Research Foundation (NRA) to be developed to foster research and innovations.
The foreign universities to set their campuses in our country and vice versa.
It lays stress on the self-capability, cognitive skills of the learner. It will help a child to develop their
talents if they are having inborn talents.
Earlier the students had the option of opting for only one discipline for studying but now different
subjects can opt, for example – one can opt for art and craft along with mathematics.
Emphasis on every subject to be treated equally.
The main motive is to develop the power of interaction, critical thinking, and the ability to
reasoning with the inculcation of innovative ideas among the students.
The multiple exit option in bachelor’s courses will provide an opportunity for the students to
benefit from the experience and attain skills by working somewhere in meantime and then
continue later.
The new education policy focuses on the practical aspect of learning any subject, as it is considered
a better way of understanding the concept.
All the institutions and higher education institutes to become multidisciplinary by 2040.
Day-1 Session 3- 12.30 PM to 02.00 PM:- FLN-foundational language to literacy
*FLN WILL BE THE FOUNDATION FOR ASSURING THE OUTRAGE OF NEP 2020*
The National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 prioritises the attainment of foundational literacy and
numeracy (FLN) for all children as an “urgent national mission”
Foundational learning is the basis of all future learning for a child. Not achieving basic foundational skills of
being able to read with comprehension, writing and doing basic mathematics operations, leaves the child
unprepared for the complexities of the curriculum beyond grade 3. Recognizing the importance of early
learning, the National Education Policy 2020 states that "Our highest priority must be to achieve universal
foundational literacy and numeracy in primary schools by 2026-27.
Meaningful Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW) skills is the main aim of Foundational Literacy
The pre-existing knowledge of language helps in building literacy skills in languages. The key components
in Foundational Language and Literacy are:
Oral Language Development: The experiences in oral language are important for developing skills of
reading and writing.
Phonological Awareness: This domain includes the competencies of word awareness, rhyme awareness,
and awareness of sounds within words which should emerge from their meaningful engagement with
language.
Decoding: This domain includes competencies of print awareness, akshara knowledge and decoding, and
word recognition
Vocabulary: This domain includes the competencies of oral vocabulary, reading/writing vocabulary, and
morphological analysis of words.
Reading Comprehension: This domain covers the competencies of understanding texts and retrieving
information from them, as well as interpreting texts.
Reading Fluency: Refers to the ability to read a text with accuracy, speed (automaticity), expression
(prosody), and comprehension that allows children to make meaning from the text.
Concept about Print: Children need exposure to different types of print rich environment to develop the
skill of comprehension.
Writing: This domain includes the competencies of writing aksharas and words as well as writing for
expression.
Culture of Reading/lnclination towards Reading: Involves the motivation to engage with a wide variety of
books and other reading materials.
This session was engaging and full on activity based learning session a lot of story telling, poem
reciting, role play, demo classes activities had been done to make the participants aware about where we
are lacking and how we can create out language classes more interesting as well as interactive.
Day-1 Session 4- 02.30 PM to 03.00 PM:- FLN-Mathematical skill to numeracy
Foundational Numeracy and Mathematical Skills: Foundational Numeracy means the ability
to reason and to apply simple numerical concepts in daily life problem solving. The major
aspects and components of early mathematics are:
The Numeracy session was based on different fun loving & hands on excersises like dynamic
table counting, identification of different shapes ,informal measurement tools etc.
Day-1 Session 5- 03.30 PM to 04.00 PM:- Presentation of TLM, STEM and Feedback
TLM such as Ganitmala, Rangometry, Zodostra, fraction kit, number ball, maan card, balance (brass),
volume measuring set, number catcher, number tilli (matchsticks),fraction dice, number dice, yellow
and blue clips, and story props such as tota (parrot), along with geometry box, textbooks, and
workbooks. Besides the classes conducted by the LRC facilitator, students are supported by these
TLMs which are available for use and practice, thus incorporating a culture of self-learning has been
demonstrated as well as STEM experiment has been done by the teachers to amalgamate the lesson
context in experimental perspective.
Feedback of Workshop by Teachers:
The 1 day Workshop helps to understand the basic principles of NEP,Literacy & Numeracy as
well as classroom pedagogy to implement.
A. After discussion we found the methods which is very helpful for all
children from class 1 to 8 as well as for us to do better as a teascher.
B. Duration of Workshop was insufficient as per the content given. All points
taken into consideration during the session were not discussed
thoroughly.
C. Following things gain for Classroom Management:-
i. Discipline does not involve punishment
ii. Reflections to be given not for student, but the work done by him/her.
iii. To make 2-3 rules which can be followed easily?
iv. To specify the voice and then to converse in the pattern.
v. In different Groups -teacher must give attention to every
group at least 2-3 minutes and watch each student.
vi. Positive talking to student for discipline in class. Not to insult
between other students, standing outside the class, no negative
conversation. To converse alone will be better.
vii. To show some content, films in Laptop also.
viii. Knowledge of Computer, Internet. It is sea of information took
help. Contents were ready in this.
