    Where is the cat?

    1- The cat is under the chair.

    2- The cat is on the chair.

    Usamos there is (que puede ser abreviado there’s) o there


    are para decir que “hay” algo. There is lo usamos cuando es
    para una sola cosa y there are para cuando es más de una.
    De la misma forma usamos there isn’t y there aren’t para
    decir que “no hay”.

    Examples:

    There is a school in Barra del Chuy. There are many students at CEA – Barra del Chuy.
    There isn’t a bus station in Barra del Chuy.
    Look at the photos and read the descriptions. Match photos (A-D) with the descriptions
    (1-4).
    Read the sentences about the rooms. Are they true or false?

    1- Diego’s room is for one person. False


    2- Elif’s favourite animals are tigers.
    3- Jana’s music player is on the floor.
    4- Max’s posters are football posters.
    5- There are four guitars above Max’s bed.

    Read the text again and answer the questions.

    1- Where are the pictures in Diego’s room? They are on the wall.
    2- Where is the poster in Elif’s room? It is _____________________.
    3- Where is Jana’s music player? _______________________________.
    4- Where is her chair? _______________________________.
    5- Where are the guitars in Max’s room? _______________________________.

    Look at the picture and complete the sentences with there is, there isn’t, there are or
    there aren’t.

    1- There is__ a T-shirt on the bed.


    2- _________ a dog in the bedroom.
    3- _________ two books on the floor.
    4- _________ four pictures on the wall.
    5- _________ any bins.
    6- _________ many books on the shelves.
