    Background of the Study

    The face-to-face communication or physical contact and


    connection were changed due to Social Media and Internet,
    some or most of the students connecting and communicating to
    their cousins,family,friends and other relatives using their smart
    phones, computer and other gadgets to share their daily lives,
    thought and acquire new information of everyday life, Most of
    the students often neglect the other aspects of their lives such
    as their academic life and time for their family.

    interpersonal relationship makes us more sufficient in academic


    studies, and it is also enhance our cognitive skills, learnings
    from the other person, classmates teacher etc. Interpersonal
    relationship is an interaction that exist between any two or more
    persons with an aim of fulfilling one or more physical or emotion
    needs(Cavanos 2013)interpersonal relationship is the ability of
    learners with hearing impairment to interact with teachers and
    colleagues in their learning environments.

    According to Voreder (2016) could be attributed to their up to


    date knowledge of and comfort with the latest technology and
    the convenient accessibility to these social networking tools. For
    instance ,they can access social media from their phones any
    time any place. This encourage them to use Social media not
    only for receiving and retrieving information but also for being
    communicated to your friends and others, And to help students
    who need to use internet for their studies.
    Statement Of The Problem

    This research attempt s to find evidences of effects of social


    media in academic performance and interpersonal
    communication of chosen students more especially to seeks the
    answer of the following question:

    1. How long are you using social media?

    2.how do social media affect your life as a student?

    3.which among the social media you commonly use?

    4.how does social media change your ways of interacting


    others? How does it affect of you having friends?

    5.do social media affect your daily life negatively or positively?

    6.is social media and your academic life interact?

    7.is your daily school life destruct in terms of using social


    media?

    H1-Social media have no effects regarding to the studies of the


    students and also to their face to face communication it rather
    gives information about their studies and enhance more of their
    cognitive thinking ,it also teach the students to learn
    socialization with other students/person.

    H0-The social media have effects due to low quality of their


    performance and also of having low grades then also for their
    facing with others by observing other students perform or
    participate in class, the others distracted and not willing
    participate in class.

    Objectives

    -to identify the different student that using social media

    -to determine the effects on the studies of random students of


    social media

    -to determine the interpersonal / face to face communication of


    the students using social media
    Scope of Limitation

    The study focuses on the effects of Social Media in Academic


    Performance and Interpersonal relationship of random students
    of Marcelino Fule Memorial College. It involves the perception of
    the sixty (60) selected students of Marcelino Fule Memorial
    College at Alaminos,Laguna. The students was selected by
    random.

    Significant of the study

    the personal will help for the peasearcher to gathered more


    information and knowledge when it regards to the effects of
    social media to academic performance and also in the
    interpersonal communication with others.

    Student

    this study will help for the students to be aware on the risk of
    social media and also for their interaction with others.

    Parents

    this study will help for the parents for their children and giving
    them limitation of using social media and also give them
    information of the levels of having low grades when it comes to
    social media and interaction of their children.

    School this study will help for the staff, faculties and also for the
    admins of school for the use of social media devices while side
    the classroom and when the class starks.
