UMTS SW upgrade

Log into the UMTS OSS

Open the OSS Common Explorer and search for your site.

Right click on each cell of your node. Select the Lock/Unlock then select SoftLock to shut down the
node.
Once all cells show Locked, Open SMO. (Software Management Organizer)

In SMO, click on Network in the left side menu.

Put your siteid in the search bar and click the arrow to the right.

Right click on your node and select Upgrade.


Find the software package that you want to upgrade to and click on it. Then click Next.
Keep this box checked and click Next on the window below.
If it seems to hang here or fails to proceed, click back then next again to come back to this window.
Uncheck the box and select one of the drop down menu servers. Usually one that begins with smo will
work.
On the next window, leave all boxes checked.
Leave everything on the next window and click next.
You can change the name of the upgrade Job here and then click Finish. This will take you back to the
job status window and show the status of your upgrade.
When the upgrade is complete, the job will show 100 and will have a green check to the left of the job.
Once completed, close the SMO window, right click on your cells, select lock/unlock and unlock your
cells.

Upgrade is complete.
