28 DAYS OF WELLNESS
Wellness is more than just a workout! By Sheryl Bernauer Ive learned that most diets do not workI gave up dieting quite a while ago. I realized that in order to make changes you have to make lifestyle changes, so I went dancing more often, ate healthier and got back into working out. That worked!!! But after a while I noticed it was harder and harder to make progress in my weight and fitness goals. I still had digestive issues that the Doctors claimed would just be something I would have to live with for the rest of my life. I would still have periods of exhaustion and listlessness, (only occasionally due to my having trouble getting a good nights sleep!) I was still waiting for that scale to break through that next plateau in weight loss I was very excited when I found out that this 28 Day Wellness Program was not just another diet. We were going to eliminate potentially problematic foods, I felt more energy and got through a very busy schedule in the middle of this Program with ease! I slept better and my digestion issues vanished along with some of those bad food choices! People started to ask what I was doing; it was the 28 Day Wellness Program! Wellness is so much more than just looking fit! You want to feel fit on the inside too, you want your body to be able to do the new workouts, take that hike or play with the kids because this timeyou are not too tired to do it! The brain and the body come alive when you feed it right. School is back in session so lets turn the page on a new chapter in health together! Classes are held on Tuesdays evenings. learn how to eat healthy and use balanced meals and meal replacements to rev up our metabolism and help to detoxify our systemnow that was something I really wanted to learn more about I WAS IN! I had already reached my 10% weight loss goal in a very slow and healthy way over the previous years as I progressed in my Yoga, but I broke through the plateau this time in a big way in just 28 Days and kept losing more weight for a few weeks after as my metabolism was really rolling! I lost 16 pounds all together and have kept most of that off for the last year and a half. I learned to be more aware of my food choices, how to fuel my body and make it work better not just feel full (sometimes too full !) I realized that some of my food choices had been wrong for me even though I thought I was eating healthy.

We thought it would be fitting, no pun intended, to offer the members of Davis Swim and Fitness, as well as the entire Davis community, a chance to get close and personal with the Morris & Terry athletic wear line. Morris & Terry is incredibly unique: meet the 100% environmentally conscious and sustainable clothing line based here in Sacramento, CA. The items are each designed, manufactured, and dyed in California. What started off as a children's line has now expanded into womens wear.

Not only is Morris & Terry a phenomenal line that provides fashionable products that are environmentally and sustainably aware, but the brand goes a step further by giving back. Morris & Terry support a local foster agency in Sacramento called HELPS. All the proceeds from their logo line goes directly to aiding foster kids. Come to Davis Swim and Fitness on Monday, October 10th throughout the day and see what you can add to your athletic wardrobe! Dont miss out!

Davis Swim and Fitness is Excited to Offer a New Martial Arts Program!

This program will be teaching Martial Art styles such as Shorinji Kempo Karate-Do, Kajukenbo, and Eskrima/Arnis from the Philippines. Classes will be taught in a traditional manner with proper etiquette and uniforms. Students will be trained in formalities, combat, and even weapons with proper safety equipment. The first class is free for everyone to try out and is open for both club members and none club members alike. The program is independent and charges a monthly fee of $40.00. Uniform and training equipment are separate, but will not be required to purchase until the second month. The class schedule is as such for this month.

Students get access to two classes a week; stay tuned for more class times to be added as each month passes as well as family deals and "Recommend a Friend" discounts.
