2 — aThe Fall of Besrin
‘This story was created withthe lowing dice esl: 2, 46,3, 6,12, 3, and
1 was traveling the ragged coast of Giray when I met a very troubled young woman called Shira. She aimed to boa seer, haunted
by visions and sounds from all across the land
This isthe story shetold me
Not far away from bere, ona rocky bay, stands the small ity of Besrin. The citys insignificant in every way, and it is mainly
lenown tobe 3 home for fishermen and their families. Revavae of this, the war never telly rowehod the city
But then, during the last days of the war, tragedy finally found its way to Besrin.
One night, avast army of undead soldiers emerged ftom the foggy marshes and surrounded Besein. Noone knows where they
came from or who they fought for. The rumor had icthat the army was an unsuccessful experiment by some now dead warlock.
Another rumor tok that so much blood had been spilled on the sol thas the dead were awakened.
The undead didn’t attack. Instead, one of them came forward snd said "Give as « human child snd we will leave
‘The people inside the city were horrified, But the city elders quickly decided that chey will not give in tothe inhuman demands of
the undead. Instead, they decided that they will wait, even fight iFitcomes tothat. Also the city's old mage. Yasemin, was
instracted to dive into her books and find the most horrible spells of destruction she could find.
Days went by. Thea weeks. The army stood outside Restin's walls, motionless. And every night they repeated their demand: "Give
tus human child and we willleave
Every now and then someone bravely tried to sneak out from the city. But they were all quickly and relentlessly murdered by the
waded
Aftertwa months the city was starcing toan outof food and water These wore aleo whispers of hing disease speesding in the
poorer parts of the city. Bestin was starting 10 rot.
But the elders stood strong, No sacrifice would be made,
Finally, after three months, a group of young men decided to act. Three adventurous childhood friends, Alper, Durak and Samet,
sneaked co one of the citys orphanages. Their plan was to snactch achilé and offer it tothe undead. Butthings didn't go as
planned, a scufe broke owt and soon one of the orphanage's nurses lay dead on che floor. an alarm starved toring through the
city.
Alper, Durak and Samet escaped the orphanage and ran straight away to the parapets of the city. They had robbed an infant girl
from her eradle
Alper, the bravest of the boys, lifted the baky over his head and shouted tothe night: “Here is your child. Now, come take her and
then getaway from here!
‘Bat the people of Besrin were having none oft. No sacriflees. hat was the decision. When the undead approached the city wall,
the peaple of Besrin attacked.
But they shouldn't have. The undesd cut through Besrin's defenders like they were paper. The enraged undead stormed the city.
YYasemin, the old mage, tied to keep them at bay but to no avail Hor epee got out af eantral and thecity tank aflame. Horeibla
destruction ensued and the people of Bestin started ro escape the city
When the undead finally eaprared Vasemia, she had driven herself mad with the destructive powers she had unleashed. Most of
the city was in ashes, and the people were either dead or escaping. No sign ofthe hee boys or the baby were anywhere tobe seen,
either
‘Some poor souls sci inhabit the ruins of Bestin, but itis mostly abandoned now. And the lung disease spreading from the city has
become mach more than just a rumor
‘The armyof the undead was ast seen standing motionless by the seashore, as if waiting fora ship to ake them home.Eee cee rer ees
