This document provides instructions for physics investigatory projects for students of Divine Public School in Mohanapur, Gorakhpur. It lists 12 potential physics project topics for students to investigate, including factors that influence cell internal resistance and EMF, the relationship between an LDR circuit and light, and refraction through different materials. General instructions are given for completing the project file in an A4 notebook, including requirements for formatting, handwriting, images, and content sections.

INVESTIGATORY PROJECT FILE PROJECT TITLE
Submitted by: Under Guidance:
Name: Subject Teacher Name: Class: Roll No. : External Examiner Sign. : LIST OF INVESTIGOTORY PROJECTS GIVEN TO THE STUDENTS - 1. To study various factors on which the internal resistance/EMF of a cell depends. 2. To study the variations in current flowing in a circuit containing an LDR because of a variation in a. the power of the incandescent lamp, used to 'illuminate' the LDR (keeping all the lamps at a fixed distance). b. the distance of a incandescent lamp (of fixed power) used to 'illuminate' the LDR. 3. To find the refractive indices of (a) water (b) oil (transparent) using a plane mirror, an equiconvex lens (made from a glass of known refractive index) and an adjustable object needle. 4. To investigate the relation between the ratio of (i) output and input voltage and (ii) number of turns in the secondary coil and primary coil of a self-designed transformer. 5. To investigate the dependence of the angle of deviation on the angle of incidence using a hollow prism filled one by one, with different transparent fluids. 6. To estimate the charge induced on each one of the two identical Styrofoam (or pith) balls suspended in a vertical plane by making use of Coulomb's law. 7. To study the factor on which the self-inductance of a coil depends by observing the effect of this coil, when put in series with a resistor/(bulb) in a circuit fed up by an A.C. source of adjustable frequency. 8. To study the earth's magnetic field using a compass needle -bar magnet by plotting magnetic field lines and tangent galvanometer. 9. To study the power transmission (supply chain of electric power) from power plant to the user end. 10. To study the conversion of alternating current to smooth direct current by using full wave rectifier and filter circuits. 11. To study the failure of classical wave theory in explaining the photoelectric effect and hence describe the Hertz, Lenard, Hallwach observations and Einstein’s theory of photo electric effect. 12. To study the various types of capacitors and their use in different types of circuits. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS – 1. The project must be completed in A4 size interleaf papers and compiled in a transparent milky file. 2. The front page or the cover page of the file must be in the same format as given by the school. 3. Only the cover page should be in printed format. All other pages must be hand written. 4. Pictures, graphs and circuits should be in coloured printed form. 5. Project must include i. Front page ii. Certificate iii. Acknowledgement iv. Index v. Content ( min. 10 pages ) vi. Bibliography
