September 2023 Intake.

You were selected from thousands of applicants and we are excited to officially welcome you to our institution
once you have completed all remaining processes. We strongly believe that your application is a testament to

Here is why you have received a conditional admission rather than an unconditional offer:

Submit Official Final Senior Secondary / National Exam Transcript

You have been made a conditional offer based on your unofficial status of your National Examination Results.
As such, you are required to upload a scanned copy of your original and official certificate of results for your
Final Senior Secondary / National Examinations.

Your Final Senior Secondary / National Examinations Transcript document must:

1. Be scanned and clear enough to read the details.
2. Show all subjects you sat for and corresponding grades.
3. Have a clear stamp and signature or a notarized version of the document your presented.

4. Be in PDF format.
5. Not exceed 3 MB in size.

Depending on when you will be able to submit the documents, either the Admissions Team or the Registrar’s
Office will review your Final Senior Secondary / National Examinations transcript.

Please keep in mind that you will not be able to officially enrol at ALU until this condition is met, as we will not
accept results slips/statements of results, provisional results, or online results as your final national exam
certificate unless notarized.

Your offer of admission to ALU will remain conditional until you fulfill the requirement(s) above.
Please note that the university has the right to withdraw an offer of placement after it has been made
due to circumstances beyond its control.

Next Steps
1. Complete all mentioned conditions above to receive an unconditional offer.
2. If you haven’t already, make sure you pay your deposit by the date* mentioned in your Admissions
Portal to accept your offer.
3. Complete all the steps on your Admissions Portal to which you already have access.
4. Please note that your first tuition installment is due before you start your first term. Please find the
exact due date in your Admissions Portal on the Tuition page.
5. The Registrar’s Office will review your documentation and, if you are cleared to matriculate, you will
officially become a student of ALU.
*Please note that failing to meet this deadline will forfeit any Grant offer you may have received. We will also no longer be able to guarantee a place

in the program for the intake to which you applied. Hence, it is vital that you contact the admissions team should you not be able to complete the

payment by the indicated date.

Matriculation Process
Be aware that to successfully matriculate, you will need to bring the following hard copies on matriculation
day:
1. Admissions Letter
2. Eligibility to Enrol Letter
3. A form of national identification
(a) International students will need a passport that is valid for no less than six (6) months with at
least 2 blank visa pages.
(b) Local prospective students will need to provide their National ID card

(c) Local prospective students with a humanitarian status will need to provide a form of
identification that clearly shows their name and date of birth such as a valid refugee ID or
UNHCR document
4. Original high school national diploma and all official national exam transcripts (must be notarized) and
must meet all the necessary requirements for program selection.
5. Prospective students that do not meet our English proficiency requirements must submit a standard
English language proficiency benchmark test at an upper intermediate level (B2).
6. International or Rwandan prospective students who have not written an exam administered by the
National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) - previously known as Rwanda
Education Board (REB) or the Workforce Development Authority (WDA) - are required to bring their
Advanced Level equivalence certificate with at least 3 principle passes (a principal pass is a grade
that’s not either S or F on the advanced level equivalence certificate) and a C average.
7. International prospective students will also need to provide a valid and original police certificate of
character.
