Submersible Aerator TRG System Frings
Applications Operation
The submersible aerators are especially well-suited for deep basins The impeller rotates inside the stator and at the same time it aspirates
and high oxygen transfer rates. air. As the self-aspiration effect is relatively low, pressurized air is added
(blower or turbo compressor).
Applications in waste water purification:
At the same time, water flowing into the impeller, is thoroughly mixed
Mixing and equalizing tanks: with air and the mixture is radially discharged into the diffusor channels
Homogenizing of waste water pollution load and sewage quantity as of the stator. Due to the rotation of the impeller and the stator, the air is
well as avoidance of odour problems. divided into very small bubbles.
Sludge stabilization:
Avoidance of odour problems as well as further oxidation of the
organic substances.
A concrete basin (or steel tank) can also be used for all applications.
Description
The large exchange area thus created and the high turbulence of the
gas-liquid jets leaving the stator, allow high rates of oxygen transfer
and oxygen utilization.
Photo 1. The distribution of the air through the channel extensions is Installation
shown on this photo upon starting the TRG at low water depth.
The units are especially designed for stationary installation (see
photo 2).
The aerators are positioned on the bottom of the basin and stand firm
due to their own weight.
The air suction pipe (or the air suction hose) is connected above the
water level to the pressure pipe of the blower or the compressor by
means of a flanged joint (see fig. 2). The blower can be installed under
a soundproof hood directly at the edge of the basin or in a room on the
plant premises.
After having loosened the flanged joint in the air suction pipe (air
suction hose) the submersible aerators can be lifted out of the basin
with a mobile crane. The aerators can be reinstalled in the basins, e.
Photo 2 shows a TRG in an activated sludge basin (11 m x 11 m x 4,5 m g. after maintenance, without emptying the basin. Usually this is not
water depth). possible with fine-bubble pressure aeration systems.

By the installation in zone B the oxygen transfer rates can decrease compared to zone A. For your special applications
we shall be pleased to advise you. We would be pleased to assist you with the dimensioning and layout of the
aerators. Please contact your ABS sales partner.
The standard motors can be used universally for 380, 400 and 415 V nominal voltage. All data for standard
motors 400 V, 50 Hz.
