MEDICAL TOURISM- its Scope in Kerala
Kerala, a geographically well positioned State in the down South part of India is
well known for the Medical Treatment and Care. Due to the world class health
care facilities, qualified and experienced medical professionals and affordable
treatment costs, Kerala has undoubtedly become one of the very popular
destinations in India.
Medical Tourists visit Kerala for a variety of Medical Treatments including our
traditional Ayurveda Treatments, Dental Care, Cosmetic Surgery, Infertility
Treatments and more. Many medical facilities in Kerala also offer holistic and
wellness treatments, such as Yoga and Meditation.
With its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, keeps Kerala on par with other
global tourism destinations. This strength makes a popular destination for
tourists seeking a combination of medical treatment and leisure activities. By
doing this, they can enjoy Kerala’s beaches, backwaters and wildlife sanctuaries
while receiving high quality medical care.
Our Government has also takes high initiative to promote Medical Tourism in the
state such as establishing Medical Tourism Facilitating Centers. Incentives are
offered to the health care providers by our Government. On the whole, Medical
Tourism has become a significant contributor to our economy. Our State is well
positioned to continue attracting medical tourists from around the Globe.
Key Points for promoting Medical Tourism.
 Partnering with medical facilities: This can be an effective strategy for

promoting Medical Tourism in Kerala. By partnering means, to partner or
liaise with reputed Hospitals and Medical centers to offer medical
treatment to foreign nationals and also for Indian nationals residing abroad.
By doing so, we can offer our valuable clients a comprehensive package
that includes medical treatment, travel and accommodation.
 Provide or share information: Clients should be provided with the updated
information about the medical treatments and procedures available in
Kerala, the Hospitals and Medical Centers that offer them and the cost
savings the clients can expect.
 Promote/Marketing: The Marketing is a very important tool in any
business. Growth and success of any business is mainly depending on how
we market the product. In today’s world, there are many channels available
to market the products such as Social Media Platforms, E-mail marketing
and Website. Share articles and blog posts that underscore the benefits of
Medical Tourism and the experiences of patients who have received the
treatment.
 Participating in Travel Trade Fairs/Campaigns: Register with the local
representatives to participate in the Fairs. This is one of the most important
media to spread the word about the organization which would also help to
market our show cased products which is the prime objective of any
organization.
 Offer Customized Packages: It’s highly recommended to offer tailor-made
packages that cater to the specific need of our clients. i.e. Offer packages
combining medical treatment with leisure or cultural tours.

our potential clients in understanding the value of Medical Tourism in
Kerala.
