the area. At that time, Barrio Latag was just a small farming community with a very
small population. As the population in Barrio Latag rapidly increased, religious and
political separation from the town of Silang was later sought from Spain. Barrio Latag

The name Carmona was adopted as a sign of gratitude to the Spanish officials
who influenced the Central Government at the time of separation of the barrio. With
boundaries properly delineated and church established, Carmona started its own
the revolution against the Spaniards. It was also witnessed the Filipinos’ resistance
against the Japanese forces. During the Japanese occupation, some of Carmona’s
prominent houses were used as Japanese headquarters while the hills became
After the war, Carmona began to find its path towards economic and political
stabilization. During this period, the provision of a stable means of livelihood for all
the people became top priority. Since Carmona was basically agricultural, the
communal agricultural lands were offered to the farmers for cultivation through
lottery. This practice, held every three years, was locally known as “Sorteo”. Since
then, the festive has been embedded into the municipality’s traditional procedures on
land ownership. To this day, farm lots are being raffled off to interested farmers,
lucky winners are awarded the right to till and developed a certain section of the
communal lands. The traditional practice of Sorteo defuses agrarian unrest and

some families. They are their only at home and working as a farmer. At the beginning,
this place has no name. To indicate that Cabeza de Barangay is facing the court and

was confirmed by the Governor General Leonard Wood. Other than that was
barangay Bancal wherein many years ago, this place was mostly forest of most trees
and called “Bancal”. It was yellow and good wood for building houses and firewood.
Almost all of its inhabitants have a Bancal House. In Japan, people who live here are
firing timber and selling bakeries. Due to importance of this tree, the village was
called by Bancal. Aside from that, Barangay Maduya is one of the barrios in Carmona
and it was considered as the largest barangay in the municipality. It was in the eastern
part of the town with a kilometer length of the national highway to Biñan, Laguna. It
has a plain that causes farming to become the main occupation of its inhabitants.
Currently, these factories are located in the area of the production of Carmona
people’s livelihood and status. Additionally, Maduya is just one of the Sitio Latag’s
Villages. There are only five homes in which ten families live. When Carmona
acquired the town’s civilization, it became a village. The name Maduya is derived
from “Maruya”, a meal from rice flour accompanied by sliced macaques that are
mixed together and served as a snack. Most of the locals are cooking it and selling all
over the town with a cry “Maruya” Eventually, the vnedors shouted “Maduya” which
According to the elders in this area, this place was once called. Several Silang decided
to clean up this place and build a house and take care of this area. Eventually, they
agreed to name the village. Someone may propose the name of the house in the “L”
range, others are forwarded. Finally, the “Lantic” has been named the given name.
Barangay Milagrosa, on the other hand, is the area which was once part of the vast
land of Yaptinchay of Biñan, Laguna. Understanding the inhabitants that the hacienda

under the leadership of Mayor Mapanoo. Many conclusions have occurred that almost
of the organization has felt frustrated but citizens have strong stand. In 1938, under
the leadership of Mayor Mapanoo and Mr. Juan Alumia, with three people trucks,
they went Malacañang to bring their request to President Quezon. They carefully
studied their affairs of the president and once again proved that there was a social
justice. After the Second World War, the earth was divided and provided to the
landless. This place was named “Milagrosa”, since the return of the people of the land
was a miracle.
Moreover, Barngay Mabuhay was founded the Villages New Town that is
formerly named Mabuhay. Seven families began living in the western part of
Carmona. By 1938, the provincial road leading up to this village to Silang was built to
improve the lives of people. This is what motivates the neighboring villages to
evacuate this place. Most of the inhabitants live by farming in the farm and in the
nearby hills. After the war the municipal council changed the name of the village and
called “Mabuhay” which means a new life in development (The Official Website of
Carmona, 2018).

mayor together with her colleagues. Their supervisor, Leonard Daniel M. Diaz,
introduced the students to the personnel that will look after them and ask that
colleague to look after the trainees. The author was introduced to her superior,
Edmund P. Purification, the sport and games inspector in the extension office of the
mayor and assigned to schedule events and services in plaza, swimming pool,

task assigned to her was to deliver documents to the different offices inside the hall
Information, Tourism, Culture and Arts Office (MITCAO). She was instructed by the
coach in the office to type some documents for basketball and volleyball tournament.
It was in the afternoon that her superior decided to teach her on how to schedule
events and services so that when someone came to schedule something and her
superior is not present, the task will be assigned to her. She was also instructed that
every morning, she must open the computer so that she can operate it when her
The author was feeling excited and nervous because she is not in her usual
place like in a school, she was in a different environment wherein she is not familiar
on how things work there. During the time that she spent in her assigned office, there
were new experience for her to learn. She learned what the purpose of her assigned
office, she encountered different people and experience to operate things that she
doesn’t know about. When she learn how to manage scheduling events and services,
she thought that it was easy to handle and access. She is still unfamiliar to her
surroundings but she thought that she should learn and familiarize the office, know
the people there and learn what they are doing in that office so that she can be useful
Early in the morning, she starts her day by opening the computer that the
office was using to schedule events and services. It was 10:10 in the morning when
the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (BDRRMC) held their
meeting in the extension office of the mayor. Mr. Edmund P. Purification, her
supervisor, asked her to go in the third floor to deliver message saying that they need
10 chairs in the extension office. Her supervisor, Mr. Leonard Daniel M. Diaz ask her
to take their attendance so she did what her supervisor asked, she waited for everyone
to have them sign the attendance and give it to her supervisor. After lunch break,
meeting was held around 1:30 PM, the meeting was composed of different office
personnel, while they’re talking, Mr. Edmund P. Purification asked her (the author) to
take their photo as a proof that they did attend the meeting.
This was her second day of her work immersion and she is still unfamiliar to
her surroundings, she was also nervous as what she would do in their office. As she
observe the people that surrounds her, she can say that they are indeed professional
because when they have time to talk, they are so close that they make fun of each
other but as soon as they emerge in their work, they start talking to each other in a
The author started her day by opening the computer that her assigned office
used to serve their clients. Around 9:00 AM her work start when someone came to
their office to have a photocopy of some documents using the Xerox machine that
their office offers to their clients, after that her another superior in the office, Mr.
Voltaire Tanjuangco teach her how to operate Xerox machine so she can help him to
operate it when he was not around. It was around 10:00 AM when Mr. Edmund P.

when Mr. Edmund P. Purification ask her to go to the main office of the mayor to
request trip tickets to Ms. Theresa Oliver. 4:25 PM client came to their office to
schedule swimming pool in April 19, 2020 for a birthday celebration and since Mr.
Edmund P. Purification is not around, the author was the one responsible to assist
their client.
The author was delighted because her supervisor taught her how to operate
and use the Xerox machine so she can finally handle the job herself. Her first time
using the photocopy machine was quite difficult for her because it was new for her
and she didn’t quite familiarize all the button she needs to push to copy the documents
but luckily her superior came to watch and assist her on what she needs to do. From
that moment, she memorize the thing that she should do to operate it and thought to
herself that she should handle her task well so that her superior will not get
As soon as the author enter her assigned office, she opened the computer and
operate it so that when someone came, it can be easily manipulated. Around 9:00 AM
when Angeline Aquino and Jewell Martillano came to their office to photocopy some
documents, she was the one to do the task since no one is around to operate it. They
ask her to take 10 copy each page and the page was consist of 3 pages so the total is
30 papers. Since they photocopy many papers, the author ask Angeline Aquino to
write down her name, signature, office where she came from and the total of copies of
their documents because that was her superior told her to do if someone came to
Xerox many copies. After lunch break, around 1:50 PM students from Angelo
Levardo Loyola Senior High School came to her assigned office to photocopy
documents. He said he’s from the budget office and asked the author to Xerox his
documents. It was consist of 15 pages and the total copy that she have to make was 10
copies since they Xerox many copies, she also asked him to take down some
information just like what she did to Angeline Aquino and Jewel Martillano. Around
2:30 PM when some of barangay captains came to their office to discussed about
game tournament.
The author was very satisfy because the things that she doesn’t know is now
familiar to her. She learned some information about her assigned office wherein she
can meet different personnel, know the task that they doing and gained information on
how they discussed it in a good and formal way. The author thought that she was
lucky to be in their office because aside from the foods that they give to her is that she
learned to know problems and discussion of the officials on how they can manage the
program and problems efficiently. She is currently enjoying the task that she do in her
assigned office and feels like she really working in a company wherein she’s the one
that handle photocopying documents and assisting the people that held their meetings
in their office.
The trainee entered her assigned office and starts her day by operating the
computer for scheduling of events and services. 8:40 AM someone came to Xerox
documents and that client insisted that she can do it by herself so the author let the
client do it. While she was watching the staff to photocopying her documents
someone came also to photocopy her items but she requested to copy the yellow pad
back to back, the author and the old lady there didn’t know how to do it and since Mr.
Voltaire Tanjuanco was not around to assist her, the young lady said that it was fine
and left their office. After the lady left, things got complicated when the old lady that
was photocopying her own documents got a problem in the machine. The paper got
stock in the machine, she and the old lady did not know how to fix it so the author
called her supervisor to fix the problem. After the problem has been solved, students
that were also deployed in the municipal hall came to their office to photocopy
documents from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). He requested to have
28 copies of the documents about memorandum guidelines for first jobseekers, the
documents consist of 12 pages so the total copy that he requested is 504. The trainee
has a long bond papers and give it to her supervisor because when someone requested
many copies of their documents that person must bring their own bond papers. Her
superior let her do the task so she did it and since there’s so many copies he requested,
she asked him to write down his name, signature, office where he was assigned and
Eugene Pakingan and Risen Realon came to her assigned office to photocopy papers
about contract services while they are waiting, Angeline Aquino and Jewell
Martillano came back because they forgot to double the copy of their documents.
Around 11:00 Ariel Jimenez came also to ask for photocopy the documents from the
fifth district office about list of ornamental plant growers while he was waiting to
finish it, the author asked him to fill up some information just like what she did
earlier. 11:40 AM, students that was assigned to Pagamutang Bayan came to
photocopy documents from their office, just like what she asked to Jimenez she also
asked them to fill up some information. After lunch break around 1:30 PM, the office
got so busy because there’s a meeting that was held in the office. The meeting was
composed of Barangay Captain and the Mayor, Roy M. Loyola. Her supervisor, Mr.
Leonard Daniel M. Diaz asked her to get their attendance while the mayor was not
around and the meeting was not yet started. While the meeting is held and her
superior are not in vicinity, she handled the photocopying task because there are too
It is the fifth day of the author work immersion and it was so tiring for her
because there are too many task that she has to do because her superior has something
to do but it was fine since she want to help her office. On this day she realize that, in
their office there is so much information she gained like when there’s a meeting held
in the office, she got a chance to listen to their discussion about the current problem
that the batangas residents are facing. She learned that Carmona government was
taking some evacuees from batangas and she was glad that their government was
doing their best as long as they can to support the evacuees. She realize that their
government official was doing their job properly and helping someone when they
need their help. She was glad that she is living in their community because the
As usual when she arrived to their office and before sitting in a chair, she
opened their computer for scheduling events and services. It was around 10:00 AM
when Ariel Jimenez came to the author assigned office which was in the office of the
mayor extension room, he bought documents and said that they need 20 copies of it.
Mr. Voltaire Tanjuanco let her handle it so she’s the one that adhere Ariel Jimenez
request. After she finished Ariel Jimenez request, Mr. Edmund P. Purification asked
her to go to Ms. Theresa Oliver in the main office of the mayor to request 8 trip ticket
amounting three hundred pesos each and he also asked her to separate each size of the
t-shirts for the dahlia and if someone ask for it, they need to write their name and sign
it as a proof that they already got their shirts. After lunch break, Angeline Aquino and
Jewell Martillano requested to photocopy some documents they has, since Mr.
Voltaire Tanjuanco presence is missing, the author assisted them and do her task as
per his superior instruction. Around 3:30 PM Angeline Aquino requested again to
photocopy documents that the author didn’t know what’s the use of it so she just
adhere her request since that what she asked for. As the time for her to leave their
As to this day, the author feel a little bit bored because there’s just a little task
she do for today but even if she didn’t do much, still she learned something new to her
surroundings. She got a chance to know more about her superior personality and she
know for sure that her superior is kind and funny. She also realized that being bored
was also part of her job because not every minutes and hours, there would be someone
to request for photocopying their documents so the author and whoever got assigned
Quarter to 8:00 AM when the author started to do her task in the morning and
that was setting and operating their computer. 8:30 AM when all barangay captain and
their secretary started gathering to their office for the meeting in 30 minutes. Mr.
Leonard Daniel M. Diaz, her supervisor ask her to take their attendance so that they
will know who don’t attend their meeting. While the author listening to their
discussion, someone came to photocopy his identification card so that’s make her get
distracted because she have to adhere his request because Mr. Voltaire Tanjuangco
was busy doing his business. While waiting for the client to come, she’s listening to
their discussion and she got to learn what they were talking about. After lunch, the
author do some task like around 2:36 PM someone came to photocopy report card and
identification card, 3:06 PM someone came to receive her t-shirt and since the author
was entrusted to it, she’s the one that give the shirt to her and around 4:00 PM Mr.
Edmund P. Purification asked her to go to the main office of the mayor to asked 2 trip
It was a cloudy and busy day for the author. It was tiring yet exciting because
she got to listen to a discussion about road clearing operation in their community. The
author thought that she’s familiar with the kind of the meeting they has because Ms.
Abigail M. Detruz already explain to them what it was and that is agenda and
proposed subject, so she got an idea what’s the highlight of their meeting. She felt so
proud and amused because as she heard to their discussion, their doing their best as
far as they can to lessen the traffic in their community and make their citizen assured
that their trying their best to solve its problems. The author was also feel nervous
when she’s photocopying identification card because that was the first time she
receive such request. At first she failed to do it but as she try for the third time, she
As the author reach her assigned office, the first thing she do was to open the
computer so that when Mr. Edmund P. Purification arrive and if there’s someone to
schedule, they can easily manage and serve the clients. 9:47 AM someone arrived in
their office to schedule swimming pool for birthday celebration. Mr. Edmund P.

she wish to copied it back to back, since it was requested by the client, she adhere her
request. After she take lunch and back to their office, someone came to photocopy
documents. He requested to copy it into 30 pieces since Mr. Voltaire Tanjuanco was
not yet in the office, she’s the one to handle their client. As the time for her to leave
their office, someone arrived to photocopy 5 report card. She requested to have a one
copy each card, even if Mr. Voltaire Tanjuanco was in their office, he let her handle
the task.
It was her eight day working in their office and the author was feeling bored in
that time because she didn’t do much of a work and their office is not that busy but it
was fine for her because even if she didn’t do much still, she learned something new
to their office. It was that time when she feel nervous when their client ask her to copy
report card because she might fail to copy it again but luckily, she didn’t fail to do it
at first round. She realized that practice makes someone do their job or task perfectly
and it was the very satisfying moment she ever had in a couple of hour she spent
