Installation instructions – Step 1

1. Install Crysis (or remove all mods if you have it installed already, or reinstall it)
2. Download patch 1.2.1 from Crytek’s site and install it
3. Delete the shortcut which was created by the installer (because the default is the 32-
bit, and we need the 64-bit exe to remove the 4GB RAM cap of 32-bit systems)
4. Open your program files\crysis folder (wherever you installed the game), then open
the Bin64 folder and find crysis.exe (this is the main 64-bit executable)
5. Right-click on crysis.exe and create a shortcut on your desktop
6. Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties
7. Select compatibility mode for Windows Vista Service Pack 2
8. Check the box of Run as administrator
9. Save the settings

Installation instructions – Step 2

1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel (or the AMD equivalent)
2. Go into Manage 3D Settings / Global Settings
3. Open the menu of DSR (or VSR) parameters and check all boxes to enable all possible
resolutions for downsampling. This is the most important feature, it will enable higher
than your native resolutions to be selected and resized to the actual size of your
monitor, creating best possible looking image ingame
4. The other setting, DSR Smoothness is some kind of Anti-Aliasing, it applies a blurry
filter to hide the jagged edges on the downsampled image. The NVIDIA factory
default is 33%, but I prefer it at 66% (I downsample 1440p to 1080p), however I think
it’s all about personal taste. Tweak this feature on your own after you fully finished
the installation, or just leave it as default.

5. Save the settings

6. Stay at the same window, but now open Program settings and select Bin64/crysis.exe
7. Apply the following settings: FXAA – On (it’s called MLAA on AMD cards), Gamma
Correction – Off, Anti-Aliasing Transparency – Off (or you can experiment with it)

8. Save the settings

Installation instructions – Step 3

1. Run the game by your new shortcut (always)
2. Go to ingame options menu, system submenu
3. Select your desired resolution. For a native 1080p monitor, you should set 2560x1440
or 3840x2160. For a native 1440p monitor, you should set 3840x2160.
Yes, it’s 2,5k and 4k, but you can always lower the resolution for extra fps.
4. Set Anti-Aliasing OFF. You don’t need it because you have DSR + FXAA, unless you
decide to play on your native resolution instead of downsampling (DSR).
However the system requirement of „1440p no AA” versus „1080p 4x AA” is very
similar, but the 1440p image looks much better detailed and FXAA should be fine.
5. Go to advanced settings, set everything to Very High, and max out the slider to the
right (it is situated below the Motion Blur settings and it tweaks its intensity).
Of course you can turn Motion Blur off if you don’t like it, but it’s a nice way to hide
the fps drops when turning around.
6. Exit the game to the windows desktop, make sure it is not running anymore.
7. Now go to your program files\crysis folder (where you installed the game) and open
the Game folder, find the ShaderCache.pak file and delete it.
8. Now go to your users\”your name”\documents\my games\crysis folder, open the
Shaders folder then open the Cache folder. Delete everything inside that folder.
(When you launch Crysis with my mod for the first time, the game will look bugged,
textures won’t be loaded properly in the first few minutes, because the shader cache
has to rebuild itself. Don’t worry, it’s a one-time issue, it will never happen again.
It is necessary for the mod which enables Parallax Occlusion Mapping with
Anisotropic Filtering to work together at the same time.)
Installation instructions – Step 4
1. Now we are going to install my mod. Open the package you downloaded, unpack
it with 7-zip File Manager. Open the unpacked mod and go into the
Crysis_Maximum_Immersion_Mod folder, then open the Crysis subfolder within.
2. In the following example, I’m using Total Commander to give a better
understanding. Basically all you need to do is to overwrite everything in your
program files\crysis folder (where you installed the game) with my mod files.
You will overwrite the Game folder and copy the System.cfg to the main Crysis
folder. That’s all.

3. Now go back to the unpacked mod and open the Documents folder. You will see a
My Games\Crysis\Profiles\default folder that contains a file: actionmaps.xml.
You need this file to have nanosuit hotkeys like in Crysis 2 and 3.
4. Now find your original vanilla actionmaps.xml, I assume that it’s located in your
users\”your name”\documents\my games\crysis\profiles\default folder (unless you
have a unique profile name, you should know this).
5. Copy my actionmaps.xml and overwrite your original file with it. If you want to
change the keybind settings ingame, don’t set anything to Q and E, it would ruin
the nanosuit hotkeys.

Installation instructions – Step 5 (Optional for people with high-end GPU)

1. Crysis is very demanding and my mod needs even more graphics power than the
vanilla game. For optimization reasons, I downgraded a few features in favour of
performance. However if you have a really good graphics card, you can re-enable
those features in seconds. Just open System.cfg, my tweaks are very well
documented inside the file and should be very easy to understand.
2. Recommended tweaks: e_lods=0, r_ColorGrading=1, r_ColorGradingDOF=1,
e_shadows_max_texture_size=2048
