Case Study No. 1. The New Human Resource Manager

PROBLEM
The Prime Manufacturing Company hired Mr. Rod Santos as head of HR
department. His bachelor’s degree is in the field of Engineering which is not
aligned with his position. In the 3 month span of Mr. Rod, employees resigned
for unknown reasons, as there was no exit interview conducted. Mr. Rod
Santos showed little interest in his job and concentrated in mental jobs
concerning the department. He lost control on his job of managing the
department. The production schedule was delayed and foreign customers
were alarmed.

CASE FACTS
Human resource department has 5 employees only (Payroll clerk. Personnel
assistant, two supervisors and manager).
Prime Manufacturing Company is a garment business that is globally
competitive and customer satisfaction is a prime important.

ANALYSIS/HYPOTHESIS
Mr. Rod Santos lost his focus as the Human Resource Manager, the fact that
he has degree in Engineering. Because of his achievements and satisfactory
results of performance Prime Manufacturing Company hired him as a Human
Resource Manager. Improving performance is an important goal of modern
management. the quality of the workforce is a deciding factor behind
organization’s success because employee performance has proven to have a
significantly positive effect on their performance. The quality of the workforce

ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION


Hire qualify applicant.
Conduct a better and more reliable interview.
Improve or provide adequate training every employee.
Hire new employees in exchange for those who resigned.
Establish and sustain work-life balance.

RECOMMENDATION/CONCLUSION
The Prime Manufacturing Company must hire a qualified HR manager. HRM
play’s strategic role in managing people and the workplace culture and
environment. The company must administer training programs, the purpose
of HR development is to provide the training needed and grow the knowledge.
Skills and abilities that an employee already has. The goal of training is to
make employees do their job effectively. The company must provide
employees benefits making their employment more satisfy. They should
implement skeletal workforce ensure that employees get the rest that they
deserve. The company should develop ethical policies, this will guide the
employees and reassure them that they have a safe and happy working
environment.
