expressions n varied situations; reads texts for pleasure and information
critically in meaningful thought units; responds properly to environmental
prints likes signs, posters, commands and requests; and writes legibly simple
sentences and messages in cursive form.

a. recognize that some words may have the same (synonyms) or opposite
(antonyms) meaning.
b. demonstrate understanding of synonyms and antonyms in active learning.
c. realize the importance of synonyms and antonyms.

Before we proceed to our new lesson
let's have a game. I will call this game a
GUESS THE SYNONYMS AND
ANTONYNS!
In this game, I will group you into 4
groups. I will show you a pictures with a
pair of words and you are going to
identify if these pair of words are
antonyms or synonyms. The first group
that will raise their hand will be the one
to answer. The group that will have the
highest point will get a prize.

synonyms and antonyms. Set A presents
words that show similarities and
differences in terms of meaning. They
are synonyms. Set B, meanwhile, lists
words with opposite meanings. They are
antonyms.
SYNONYMS AND ANTONYMS

Synonym refers to a word that has the
same or nearly the same meaning with
other word/s. It is the same or similar to
the given word.
Examples
circle – round
neat – clean/ tidy
intelligent – smart
Aside from these examples, can you give
another examples. Please raise your
hand if you want to respond.
