2. Use Symbol Command to Type Math Symbols in Excel

Now, we will type the mathematical symbols by using the Symbol command. Let’s
follow the instructions below to type math symbols!

Step 1:

First of all, select cell E5. Now, from your Insert tab, go to,

Insert → Symbols → Symbol


As a result, a dialog box named Symbol will appear in front of you. Form the
Symbol dialog box, firstly, select the Symbols Secondly, select the Algerian
from the Font drop-down box. Thirdly, select any mathematical sign. Let’s say,
we select the summation sign(∫). At last, press Insert.
After pressing the Insert button, you will be able to type the summation sign(∫)
in cell E5.
Step 2:

Hence, autoFill the summation sign(∫) to the rest of the cell in column E.

3. Apply Ink Equation Command to Type Math Symbols in Excel

Last but not the least, we will apply the Ink Equation command to type the math
symbols. This is an easy and time-saving task also. Let’s follow the instructions below
to type math symbols!

Step 1:

First, select cell E5. Now, from your Insert tab, go to,

Insert → Symbols → Equation → Ink Equation


After that, a math Input Control dialog box pops up.

Now, type 5 + 3 = 8 in the written math here typing box. Hence, press the
Insert option.
As a result, you will be able to insert a math equation with math symbols in cell
E5.
Step 2:

After that, repeat step 1 to insert the math equation with math symbols which
has been given in the below screenshot.
