NOTE: NVMe FIPS SED drive is supported for F600 and F900 nodes in OneFS 9.3.0.0. Downgrading nodes with these
drives to an earlier OneFS version renders them inoperable.

NOTE: The 15 TB and 30 TB QLC with noncertified SEDs for new node pools is supported for F600 and F900 in OneFS
9.4.0.9 or later. The OneFS 9.4.0.9 or later version is required for SED-Non-FIPS nodes. If a cluster is running a version
earlier than 9.4.0.9, SED-Non-FIPS nodes fail to join the cluster.

NOTE: Access to the 1 GbE Management port for F200/F600/F900 requires OneFS version 9.4.0.3 or later. If the nodes
were shipped with an older OneFS version, a one-time configuration change might also be needed to enable management

Node class compatibility

Node class compatibility enables deployment of a newer-generation node to a SmartPools node pool that contains nodes from
an earlier generation.
If the node classes are compatible, you can join a newer-generation node to an existing cluster of earlier-generation nodes. The
newer-generation node becomes a member of an existing node pool. For example, if the cluster has a node pool that is made up
of Isilon X200 nodes, you can define a compatibility that allows the addition of an X210 node to the same node pool.
OneFS supports compatibilities for S200/S210, X200/X210, X400/X410, and NL400/NL410 nodes.
The requirements are:
● Same node series (S, X, or NL)
● Same number of HDDs, SEDs, and SSDs
● Same HDD and SSD layouts
● Compatible node generations must have a compatible memory configuration
● Compatible RAM

Table 8. A200/A2000 Compatibility

A200 RAM A2000 RAM
16 GB 16 GB
64 GB 64 GB

NOTE: To mix 16 GB and 64 GB nodes in the same pool, the cluster has to be running OneFS 8.2.2+. The 64 GB nodes
should be kept in a separate pool for high workload environments.

NOTE: SSD compatibilities require that L3 cache is enabled on all nodes. If you attempt to move nodes with SSDs into a
node pool on which L3 cache is not enabled, the process fails with an error message. Ensure that L3 cache is enabled for
the existing node pool and try again. L3 cache can only be enabled on nodes that have fewer than 16 SSDs and at least a
2:1 ratio of HDDs to SSDs. On Generation 6 nodes that support SSD compatibilities, SSD count is ignored. If SSDs are used
for storage, then SSD counts must be identical on all nodes in a node pool. If SSD counts are left unbalanced, node pool
efficiency and performance can be less than optimal.

Optional 2x10GbE + 2x8GB Fibre Channel network

interface card (NIC)
You can enable two-way NDMP sessions by configuring a node with the optional 2x10GbE + 2x8GB Fibre Channel network
interface card (NIC) on Generation 6 nodes.
This special NIC is required to allow Gen6 to interface with tape libraries. A 2x10GE + 2x8GB Fibre Channel NIC is a hybrid host
bus adapter (HBA) that enables two-way NDMP sessions over the Fibre Channel port. Contact Dell EMC Professional Services
to enable support for the 2x10GbE + 2x8GB Fibre Channel NIC.
NOTE: This optional NIC requires OneFS 8.2.0 or later. This optional NIC is not available for the Isilon A300, A3000, H700,
