HCL Recruitment Process: 1) Written Test (Computer Based Online Test)
1) WRITTEN TEST (COMPUTER BASED ONLINE TEST) Written test was been conducted by aspiring minds. It consists of 83 questions, we have to write them in 90 minutes. The pattern consists of 4 sections : 1. Verbal Ability (25 Qns 30 Mins) 2. Quantitative Aptitude (25 qns 35 mins) 3. Logical reasoning (25 Qns 35 Mins) 4. Technical Comprehension (8 Qns 8 Mins) The test held for about 107 minutes in which each sections were divided accordingly. The first section consists of a passage followed by questions as this is based on English it is quite difficult. The second and third section consists of aptitudes and quantitative as I do not remember the questions I will tell the topics in which it was covered.. Logarithmic, powers, Roots, Profit loss, ratio, mixtures, seating arrangements, finding the next number, next series alphabet, rice and milk mixture problems, directions, what is the remainder some xxxxx number divided by 17, data sufficiency, each of the above topics consists of 2 to 3 questions friends and finally technical comprehension. A passage was given about networks and hijack on red hat Linux and technical questions were asked it was same like reading comprehension only. This is very important to clear, if you clear the written test you are almost (75%) placed in the HCL. Prepare the R.S AGARWAL book its more than enough. 2) GROUP DISCUSSION Its very easy round to clear, though you are not aware of the topic it is easy because HR people gives brief description about one topic, later they ask questions on this topic. If you are good listener, pay some attention you definitely clear this round each group contains 10 members, major elimination is here only from my group only two members are cleared, at other panels they selected 6 out 10, and some times 9 out 10 also dont fear. If dont know any thing about the topic ask thoughts, this also improves your chances of getting selected in the GD just involve in the discussion by asking questions 3) HR INTERVIEW HR interview is just for formality. But some of us also eliminated here also almost 500 people are qualified for the HR ROUND and 400+ selected (as per my knowledge). HR questions like, Tell me about your self ? What are your achievements ? What are your short term goals and long term goals ? Family background ? What do you know about HCL? Why HCL? Why should we hire you ? What is your area of interest? Will you go Noida?

(Butfirst you have to register you are self) LCM, HCF, pipes, logarithms (important), surds, probability, permutation and combination are very important and just revise intermediate JPs eamcet material for (probability) only. Reasoning just follow R.S Aggarwal, its more than enough mainly they are asking series which are dead easy, coding and decoding very easy, puzzle test and they are touching all concepts in reasoning but they are very easy.
Computer programing, they are not concerned on one particular language, for cse students it is very easy, other departments dont forget to prepare concepts like data structures stack implementation, sorting algorithms just concept, main important space complexity, time complexity, asymtoticnotations. Total 250 students appeared for written exam, only 91 students got selected for next round. One more important thing verbal section is important based on these section only they filter inwritten exam. I had taken my interview at evening 50 clock; They are 5 pannels, 4 pannels concentrated more only on HR. Only one pannel fully concentrated on Technical. by God grace I went to technical HR HR: First he asked me to fill a form HR: After a thorough glance at my resume, he asked me what type of scholar ship you got (from my resume) Me: I explained HR: Do you know Java? Me: I told I know only basics of Java HR: He asked questions on threads and C debugging then he asked about my project Me: I explained.
