Subject: Orientation of SEECS – NUST 2022

1. Orientation of SEECS – NUST is a flagship event held annually in the Fall Semester to
welcome the batch of freshmen to a new chapter of their lives. SEECS Orientation is
widely regarded as the most important event of the year as it sets the precedence for the
environment and culture the freshmen will experience for the next 4 years in their new
home, SEECS. Students are involved throughout the entire week in multiple activities
held throughout the campus and their own department to familiarize them with their new
home.

2. The SEECS School Orientation Committee is planning the Orientation week of SEECS.

ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION
 Registration: Students will bring their documents that are required for submission to the
School Administration.
 Alumni Session: A graduate of their discipline will tell them about their experience and
the future of their degree as per their knowledge.
 Introduction: This session will include questions such as “name, from where do you
belong, from where did you pass your high school, what do you expect, why NUST”
 Ice breaking: This will include a sequence of fun activities (listed below) done with the
freshmen.

Activities Planned for SEECS Freshmen


DAY ONE
1. Bottle tower toppling
A tower of bottles will be present in front of the candidate and they will have to knock them
down using balls or shooting guns.

2. Jamming session

Some singing group from within NUST will be asked to join us on the event and entertain the
freshmen with sings.
3. “How low can you go”
It is a fun activity in which the players have to bend down in such a way that they pass under the

bar without dislodging it or touching the floor.


4. Dares
Feasible yet interesting dares will be given to our freshmen to perform.
5. Complete the sentences
one student will be asked to start a story. The next will have to create something unique to
continue the story.

DAY TWO
1. EE vs CS vs SE slogan banter
Slogans will be created and chanted by the freshmen. It will be a healthy activity that will
energize them and make them comfortable.
2. Ping pong bounce
5-6 cups will be placed and participants will have to bounce a ping pong ball so that it lands in
any of the cups.
3. Lego building challenge
The students will be divided into groups and Lego kits will be provided to them. They will build
stuff and show their creativity.
4. Townhall debates
Debating competition will be done where students will get to present their viewpoints.
5. Batch photo
A batch photo will be clicked at the end of the day so create a memory for the freshmen of
batch’22.
DAY THREE, FOUR AND FIVE:
1. School visits
Different OG groups will visit the labs, classrooms and other places of SEECS.
2. Indoor games
Many indoor fun activities are planned for them that they will play and will get prizes as well.

1. Bridge Building competition:


The visiting groups will be divided into teams, each team will be given pieces of wood to
assemble a wooden bridge, whoever assembles in time, the said group wins.
2. Exhibition of Projects in SEECS Lobby
Already made projects made by the students of SEECS will be put up for exhibition.

MINUTE SHEET

Requisitions from Administration


1. The team will require the booking of SEECS Seminar Hall from 1200 to 1900hrs. on 3rd
and 4th September to decorate them for Orientation week and have a dry run for the
activities.
2. The students will require to be seated in NET hall, so the team requires it to be booked
for the first orientation day from 900 hours to 1045 hours.
3. The ground floor classes are also to be booked where the registration will be set-up from
1030 to 1200 hrs on day one and 900 to 1000 hours on day two.
4. The team will require the booking of SEECS Seminar Hall from 0730 to 1800hrs. from
5th September to 9th September
5. 6 tables will be required from within the department for refreshments from 5th to 9th
September.
6. The parents of students who will come for the opening presentation on 5th September,
Monday, will be served tea and refreshments. The Hi-Tea is planned at 1030hrs on 5th
September. The arrangements of the hi-tea have to be made via the DD Admin.
7. One printer, 4-5 LED Monitors, 2 Projectors, Mics and ITS equipment for Day 1 and 2 of
Orientation.
