Skills Listening Speaking

Content Standard: 1.2 – Understand meaning in a variety of 2.1-Communicate simple information

Learning standard: 1.2.1- Understand with support the main 2.1.1-Give very basic personal
idea of very simple phrases and sentences information using fixed phrases

Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to ask at least 4 questions correctly.

Objectives
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen and answer at least 4 questions correctly.
LCD projector, textbook, worksheets CCE: Language
Teaching aids
Pupils review the days of the week chant. (CD2 21)

Pre Lesson
1. Pupils draw a table in their exercise book as shown by the teacher on the board or slide.

2. Pupils are explained about a short survey.

3. Pupils watch the demonstration by teacher and students.

Lesson Development 4. Pupils practice the sentence pattern.


Sentence pattern:

S1) What do you do on Monday?

S2) I play football on Mondays.

Pupils are called out to share their findings.

Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to read and arrange words to form at least 3 correct
sentences.

Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen and look for at least 9 correct words.

Teaching aids
Pupils recap sounds s, a, t, p in days in a week. Teacher points at a letter and pupils guess the sound.

Pre Lesson
1. Pupils are introduced to a set of reading cards about daily activities.

2. Pupils are guided to read together. Call out proficient pupils to be the mini teachers for the second round of
reading.
Lesson Development
3. Pupils are divided in groups of 3 and are given a box of words in their respective groups.

4. Pupils listen and find the words that the teacher says. Pupils rearrange the words to form a correct sentence
and write the sentence in their exercise books.

Pupils take turns to read out the sentences that they have written.
