Safety Energy Locks for Headaches

Try these simple methods each time you have a headache: Hold your thumbs including the pad of the
thumb, aka Safety Energy Lock 18, left then right for approximately 2 minutes. This will also help you
de-stress and relax.
For migraines or any chronic/severe headaches, the trick is to bring energy down to your feet.
Try these steps when you feel an onslaught of discomfort in your head: Sitting or lying down, using
your right hand reach towards your right foot and touch the area just below your ankle bone where you
feel the ‘hollow’ area, aka Safety Energy Lock 16, outside the heel. Do the same with the left hand for
your left ankle bone area. Hold both until you feel a pulse.
Next with your right hand use all your fingers to touch the base of the thumb. Hold until you feel a pulse
or for 5 minutes. Next hold your head where you feel the migraine or pain(s) until you feel a
pulse. Finish with the ankle holds again.

Jumper-cabling together the middle toes and middle fingers is a general harmonizer especially for the
respiratory and digestive functions. It promotes optimal and healthy production of milk for mothers who
are breastfeeding. It also helps release tension and stress from the knees.
To practice this Jin Shin Jyutsu® exercise correctly, as described in The Touch of Healing by Alice
Burmeister, please check proper holding positions shown in the above illustration. Always remember to
jumper-cable both hands and feet.
This exercise is also useful when you experience any of the following:
• I’m angry
• I bruise easily.
• I have migraines.
• I can’t breathe.

Finger Poses: 7 Exhaling & 8 Inhaling

This is the last of the series of the Jin Shin Jyutsu® 8 finger poses described by Alice Burmeister with
Tom Monte in their book The Touch of Healing. Today we will cover both Finger Pose 7 & 8 which stated
in the book helps bring harmony to the total being.
Finger Pose 7 aids in releasing general daily tension and stress from the head,
lungs, digestive functions, abdomen, and legs. it also strengthens the ability to
exhale and unloads any accumulated dirt, dust, and greasy grime.
Technique: Touch the palm sides of the left and right middle fingers in the
folded hands position (as shown in illustration).
This last Finger Pose 8 helps to release the tension in the back and promotes an
overall feeling of well-being. It also strengthens our ability to inhale and
receive the purified breath of life.
Technique: Bring the left and right middle fingernails together (see
illustration). Hold these positions for several minutes and whenever you feel a
need for improving exhaling or inhaling for body, mind, and spirit harmony.

Finger Pose 6 strengthens the respiratory function and helps balance all ear-related problems. This pose
can help us breathe more easily while walking, jogging, running or exercising. Jin Shin Jyutsu® Finger
Pose 6 as mentioned in the book The Touch of Healing by Alice Burmeister with Tom Monte also can be
used when flying or driving in high altitudes.
Use Mudra Finger Pose 6 with any of the following physical or emotional conditions: 1. My skin condition
is terrible. 2. I feel rejected and unloved and get teary easily. 3. I’m all thumbs. I’m clumsy. 4. I’ve lost all
of my common sense. 5. My ears are bothering me.
Technique: Touch the right ring fingernail with the palm side of the thumb and hold for several
minutes. Reverse for left ring finger and thumb.

Technique: Hold the back of the left thumb, index, and middle fingers with the right thumb. Place the
rest of the right fingers on the palm side of the left thumb, index, and middle fingers. Hold this
position lightly for several minutes or longer and then complete this technique for the right thumb and
fingers.

Zin Shin Jyutsu® Pose 3 is for calming the body, releasing nervous tension and stress, and revitalizing all
organ functions as described in The Touch of Healing by Alice Burmeister with Tom Monte.
This pose can also be used whenever you feel any of the following states of mind or physical symptoms:
1. I get so nervous. 2. I worry about my heart. 3. I can’t walk too long without getting out of breath. 4. I’m
always ‘trying-to’. 5. I get so depressed. I have no fun.
Technique: Hold the palm side of the left little and ring fingers with the right thumb. Place the other
right fingers on the back of the left little and ring fingers (as shown). Hold this pose lightly and as long
as you desire. Remember to reverse technique for the right fingers.

The thumbs and little toes are often the most sensitive digits to jumper-
cable according to the teaching guidebook ‘The Touch of Healing’ by Alice
Burmeister with Tom Monte. We continue to explore Jin Shin Jyutsu® jumper-
cabling technique called the thumb and little toe sequence.
What to know about the thumbs: Thumbs dissipate general daily fatigue and
promote healthy digestive function. We can release tension from the head,
shoulders, and lungs by jumper-cabling either one.
What to know about the little toes: We can release tension from the back,
strengthen the kidney and bladder functions by jumper-cabling the little toes.
These thumb & little toe sequences can be used whenever you find yourself
thinking or experiencing any of the following: 1. I’m out of balance. 2. I feel
nervous. 3. I have muscle spasms. 4. I tire easily. 5.I have a fever. 6. I have a
hard time breathing. 7. My digestive system is out of balance. 8. I feel mentally
stressed. (Practice this technique as shown in illustrations for 1-2 minutes using
either left or right hand and foot or both.)

Jin Shin Jyutsu® teaches a practice called cable-jumping to help move our energy flow through
disharmony which is indicated in the illustration above. Each finger corresponds to a specific emotion or
attitude. This exercise only takes 1-2 minutes on thumb and each finger. Below is the order starting with
either thumb, jumper-cabling it lightly with opposite fingers (each attitude finger is cable-jumped using the
fingers not the palm):
1. Thumb (balance): Attitude-worry, organs associated-Spleen, Stomach
Great you now can start on the other fingers if time permits. Tomorrow we
will look at the palm (nourish everything).
