Topic: Catching a Hummingbird
Objeve:
● Demonstrate communicative competence through an exhibition.
Identify and explain in a video an endangered species in Peru. (animal)
Project:
● Considering the National Geographic video for Unit 11, located in the E-book, students will
work in groups (maximum 3) to plan a similar video about an endangered animal in Peru.

This scavenger animal locates its prey,


but it does not immediately descend
to eat, but circles over it or watches
it from somewhere nearby until it
finally approaches. These animals are
able to eat up to 5 kilograms of meat
a day and survive even 5 weeks
without food.

That is why it is important not to violate


their space in case you meet one up close
and not to feed them either. Another
way to help is to inform us more about
its species and its conservation, teaching
children and adults in an interactive way
to prevent this emblematic Andean bird
from reaching its decline.
