PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Momenta Platinum is a semi synthetic heavy duty engine oil recommended for naturally aspirated and turbo charged diesel
greenhouse gas compliant diesel engines to meet lower CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy, in addition to EPA 2010
compliant low emissions diesel engines with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), and EGR
(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systems. Momenta Platinum is fully compatible with previous API service categories such as API
CJ-4, CI-4, and CI-4 Plus. It is engineered to provide a strong foundation for oxidation resistance, soot handling, and wear
control supplemented with excellent piston deposit protection and reduced sludge formation to help provide long engine life.

and gasoline engines in which the API CK-4 or SN service category are recommended. It is specifically formulated for 2017

Momenta Nano Synthetic is a fully synthetic high performance heavy duty diesel engine oil that helps towards long engine life
while providing long drain capability for modern diesel engines operating in severe applications. The high TBN level neutralises
the harmful effects of sulphur contained in low quality diesel fuel. It delivers excellent performance in modern low emission
engines, as well as older, well-maintained engines.
APPLICATION:

APPLICATION:
Optimus Thermic are recommended for use in thermic systems where fuel oil, gas, or electricity is used to heat a fluid, which
then transfers the heat to the point of application. In closed, forced circulation systems equipped with expansion tanks,
Optimus Thermic Oil Grade 22 can be used with bulk oil temperatures up to 316°C (600°F) and skin temperatures up to
343°C(650°F) where good thermal stability and pumpability are required. Optimus Thermic Oil Grade 22 is also ideal where high
thermic rates combine with high flow rates, and for systems where repeated heating and cooling cycles are required. In closed
or open systems with forced circulation, Optimus Thermic Oil Grade 46 can be used where bulk oil temperatures do not exceed
288°C (550°F) and skin temperatures may be as high as 316°C (600°F). The oil surface in contact with air in open systems
should not exceed 107°C(225°F).Copper and copper alloys should not be used in heat transfer systems with a hydrocarbon

The ILSAC GF-1 standard indicates the oil meets both API SH and the Energy Conserving II (EC-II) requirements. It was created
in 1990 and upgraded in 1992 and became the minimum requirement for oil used in American and Japanese automobiles.

ILSAC GF-2 replaced GF-1 in 1996. The oil must meet both API SJ and EC-II requirements. The GF-2 standards requires

Gaseous –fuelled engines require oils formulated with an additive system specific to these engines. Since no industry standards
are available to define performance levels, field test evaluation must be used. The sulfated ash level of an oil is used as an
industry guideline as to various categories, but certainly ash alone will not define the performance level of an oil. These ash
categories are defined by the EMA as:
Constraints other than sulfated ash may be placed on the oils depending on individual engine manufacturers and the type of
engine operation and environmental controls. The use of exhaust catalysts may impose limitations on the use of base metals
and other elements such as zinc, sulfur and phosphorus in the oil formulation.
The use of other gaseous fuels such as sour gas or landfill gas, etc., has increasing interest today. The increased hydrogen
sulfide (H2S) and total organic halides (as chlorine) create additional problems for the engine and lubricating oils. The best
approach to this problem would be to remove these corrosives from the fuel before they reach the engine. If the fuel is
not treated, higher Base Number (BN) engine oil, used oil analysis, reduced oil-change periods and increased jacket water
temperatures are necessary. But engine life is usually sacrificed, even with all these additional requirements.

The LMOA operates a classification system which defines the performance of diesel locomotive engine lubricants. The
railroads, the engine manufacturers and lubricant suppliers all recognize the LMOA "Generation" nomenclature.
Although the LMOA lubricating oil classification system is regarded as an industry guideline, field evaluations are still required
by most engine manufacturers to qualify an oil for service in their equipment. In many instances, the engine manufacturer's
approval specifies the additive package and basestock used to formulate the lubricant.
Increases in engine power from the same size engine, the reduction in oil-consumption with the consequent cutback in top-up
oil, the desire to extend oil change periods, and the need to prevent the engine oil oxidizing and thickening in service has lead
to successive LMOA Engine Oil Generations having higher levels of detergency, alkalinity reserve, and oxidation resistance.
Before the introduction of the LMOA Generation 5 category, oils which eventually were to meet this qualification were described
as Generation 4 "Longlife".
In move to achieve improved fuel and oil efficiency, diesel locomotive engine manufacturers are field testing and approving
multigrade versions of Generation 4 and 5 oils.

snowmobiles, and chain saws with high fuel: oil ratios - but not outboards. Two-cycle engine oils designed for API Classification

API TA
Proposed classification for two-stroke engine oils required for extremely-small engines, typically less than 50 cc. Engine Tests
for this classification were under preparation when the Coordinating Europian Council (CEC) withdrew support for this category.
API TB
Proposed classification for two-stroke engine oils required for the engines of motorscooters and other highly-loaded small
engines, typically between 50 and 200cc. The test sponsor no longer requires this category, and the classification has been
abandoned.
API TD
Designed for water-cooled outboard engines, this classification used the identical engine test to that in the National Marine
Manufacturers association (NMMA) TC-W® category. API TD has been superseded, and is no longer accepted by the NMMA,

The JASO specification describes three levels of performance: FA, FB and FC. Lubricant performance is assessed according to
four criteria that are measured in six separate tests. The thrust of the JASO specification is the low smoke requirement, which
is especially stringent for the FC performance category.
JASO sets no application descriptions for these service descriptions; a performance driven classification system has been
defined for the use of engine manufacturers. JASO FC is the predominant performance category, as Japanese engine
manufacturers will recommend JASO FC as the minimum quality for two-cycle engine oils within Japan, and JASO FB and FA
are defined to provide a measure of oil performance in some other countries.
A rigorous licensing system will be put in place for all JASO service classifications, similar to the systems in force for NMMA
TC-W3®, DEXRON®-III, MERCON®, API SJ and ILSAC GF-2. In order to carry the JASO FC symbol, each specific formulation
will need to be individually tested and qualified against JASO requirements.
The difference between the JASO and ISO/GLOBAL specifications will be the establishment of an ISO/GLOBAL GD performance
category. These oils will have higher levels of detergency and provide greater ring-sticking protection than any of the JASO oils.

API GL-1
Designates the type of service characteristics of automotive spiral-bevel and worm gear axles and some manually operated
transmissions operating under such mild conditions of low unit pressures and sliding velocities, that non-additive mineral
oil may be used satisfactorily. Oxidation and rust inhibitors, anti-foam additives and pour point depressants maybe used to
improve the characteristics of lubricants intended for this service. Does not contain friction modifiers and extreme-pressure
agents.
API GL-2
Designates the type of service characteristics of automotive type worm gear axles operating under such conditions of load,
temperature and sliding velocities that lubricants satisfactory for API GL-1 will not suffice. Products suited for this type of
service contain antiwear or very mild extreme-pressure agents which provide protection for worm gears.
API GL-3
Designates the type of service characteristic of manual transmissions and spiral-bevel axles operating under moderately severe
conditions of speed and load. The service conditions require a lubricant having load-carrying capacities greater than those
that will satisfy, API GL-1 service, but below the requirements of lubricants satisfying API GL-4 service. Lubricants designated
for this service typically contain additives which are active at the tooth surface at the temperatures resulting from high-speed

Current specification for crankcase oils intended for spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines used in all types of
military combat/tactical ground equipment, and for power transmission, hydraulic systems and non-hypoid gear units of

Oils for this specification meet API Service Classification CD-II, and testing in spark-ignition engine tests suggest a gasoline

GREASE COMPATIBILITY
When changing equipment from one type of grease to another by adding new grease on top of an earlier grease, the question
of grease compatibility arises.
Commonly, incompatibility occurs when a mixture of two greases has a consistency markedly softer than either of the original
greases. Such a mixture will be prone to leak from bearings. Sometimes, a mixture will be substantially harder than the original
greases and will starve bearings for lubrication. Occasionally, the melting point of a grease mixture may be lower than either of
the individual greases, leading to leakage at bearing operating temperatures.
Incompatibility often reflects undesirable interactions of grease thickeners. However, it may also reflect interactions of differing
additive systems or between one or more additives in one grease and the thickener in the other. Gross incompatibility can often
be detected by running simple physical tests on the individual greases and on a 50/50 mixture of the two.
However, incompatibility between a mixture of two greases may occur only under specific conditions, such as operation at
higher temperatures or in a wet environment. To detect such incompatibilities between greases, more demanding performance-
based testing of the grease mixture may be needed.
If the nature of an incompatibility is established, then the effects may be minimized. If a grease mixture softens, then the
solution may be to increase relubrication intervals during the transition period to compensate for the temporary increase
in leakage. If a grease hardens substantially (rare, but not unknown), or if the Dropping Point is depressed, then a practical
solution may be to use a third grease for the transition. This would be a product, compatible with both the original and new
grease, which is introduced on top of the original grease until it is fully displaced. Then the new grease is introduced on top of
the transition grease.
Wherever possible, greases of different types should not be mixed. The changeover of grease types should be deferred until
shutdown of the equipment, when the bearings and other greased components may be cleaned thoroughly of the old grease
and the new grease then introduced.
The following table provides a general indication of patterns of compatibility based on the usually encountered interactions
between thickeners systems. Sometimes the incompatibility is more subtle, being between additives in one grease and
the thickener of the other. It is this type of incompatibility that may only become obvious when testing is conducted under
conditions as close as possible to those under which the greases will operate.

For example, an ISO VG 150 oil would have a viscosity of 7.58 mm2 /s at a temperature of 1300C.
All packaged products include smaller containers packed in cartons and drums should be left sealed until the product is
required and they should always placed on pallets or blocks. As a general rule, all packages should never be stored out-of-
doors. But when drums have to be stored outdoor, they must be protected from dirt and water, which may contaminated the
content when the drum is opened. Drums should be stored horizontally and the position of both the bungs should be horizontal
to prevent the normal breathing of moisture and no more than three drums should be placed on top of each other. When storage
is vertical, a maximum of three pallets can be placed one above the other. But they should be cleaned regularly and carefully
to eliminate the hazards of rust, scale and dirt.
Dispensing
Dispensing includes withdrawal from storage, transfer to the point of use and application at the point of use. Package products
may be dispensed directly from the original containers or may be transferred to various types of application equipments. When
products are disposed be methods other than completely closed system, follow three major points for effective dispensing.
• Containers and application equipments should be kept rigorously clean at all times.
Appendix
• Each container and application equipment should be labeled for single product and used only for that product.
• Before the application, grease fittings, filler pipes, filler holes etc should be completely cleaned.
