Composition of soft magnetic composites dielectric organic or compaction inorganic coating thermal treatment Metal powder Organic coating (latest research — phenol formaldehyde resins) Advantage * smart preparation * high density of final green compacts * thermally undemanding curing process max. 400 °C Disadvantage thermal treatment temperature for these materials is strictly limited by the thermal resistance of the organic insulating material which is not high enough for removing some plastic deformations created after compaction step in the green compact Inorganic coating Soft magnetic sintered metals oxides in spinel structure Advantage - good high frequency characteristic - high initial magnetic permeability - high electric resistivity which results in low eddy current losses over wide frequency ranges - stability over wide temperature ranges. - ability to conduct electron flow through the material Disadvantage - low saturation magnetic flux densities - difficult to sinter (hard material), thus resulting in a problem obtained material with sufficient density - shrinkage of ferrite during sintering The aim of present work was to create soft magnetic composite powder base on FeSi and Permalloy type substrate and nickel ferrite coating. NiFe,O, can be created by precipitation in the form of coating only on the substrate with the higher content of Ni— Permalloy type powder The higher affinity of the Fe** ion to the iron base substrate — Fe,Si causes a higher amount of Fe,O, ferrite on the surface. In both cases, the multi-layer coating was created on both used substrates .
