This year (2023), Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT-2023) will be conducted in a single

Aliah University has a full-fledged Training & University-Industry relationship for further
Placement Cell (T&P Cell) which is under the improvement of the students. The T&P Cell has
supervision of a full time Training and Placement initiated an industrial training & internship
Officer (TPO) to provide placement assistance to the programme, in which students are encouraged to
students. It conducts special training sessions for the enhance their industrial exposure by capitalizing on

12.1. Jobs
The Training and Placement section of Aliah University conducts campus recruitment drives
through which a number of students get jobs in different MNCs. In addition, students from
Aliah University also qualify and get selected for different positions in government sectors.
In the 2022-23 session a student from Computer Science & Engineering department,
Miss. Ambareen Azam has got a job offer from Deutsche Bank, Germany with an annual
package of 50 Lakhs (INR equivalent).
12.2. In Higher Studies and Research Opportunities

Many passed-out students are pursuing higher studies (Ph.D. or Post-doc) in IITs, IISERs, and
foreign institutes, like ETH Zurich, Texas A&M University, University of Lausanne, Clemson
University, Yeungnam University etc.
Dr. Sk. Rameez Iqbal is currently working at ETH Zurich as a Postdoctoral Researcher.

Immediately after completing his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Aliah University,
Dr. Rameez joined IIT Madras for PhD. After completion of PhD. Dr. Rameez had also worked at
OIST, Japan before moving to Zurich.
12.3. National Level Examinations (NET/SET/GATE)

A number of students from most of the departments qualify national level exams, like
NET/SET/GATE etc. each year. In the last year also performance of students of Aliah
University in all the national level exams is commendable.

Aliah University is a network institute of Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) under Indian Space Research
Organisation, Department of Space, Govt. of India, outreach network. The name of our University is included
in the online application form of IIRS Outreach Programme and conducting live & Interactive courses at our
Institute/Organization. Currently, our University is listed as one of the nodal centres to conduct online courses
offered by IIRS-ISRO Dehradun.

At present, The University has:
One G+19 Boys' Hostel with accommodation for 627 boarders.
One G+13 Girls' Hostel with accommodation for 432 boarders.
Park Circus Campus has a G+9 Hostel for Girls that has accommodation
capacity for 216 girl students.
15.2. LIBRARY:
The Aliah University Library has rich resources in different disciplines and
provides comprehensive access to books, journals, magazines, reports, e-
journals/online databases, e-books, and dissertations to scholars,
students, officers and non-teaching staff. The Newtown Library deals with
Engineering & Technology, Management, Pure Science and Biological
Sciences collection while the Park Circus library covers the collection on
Humanities, Social Science, Nursing, Law, Education etc. The oldest library
situated at Taltala campus has books on Islamic Theology. Both New Town
and Park Circus campus libraries are automated.
15.3. GAMES AND SPORTS:

Sports undoubtedly have become an integral part of our education
system with an aim to support sports mans to gain their quality
education. Sports Board of Aliah University also strongly supports the
idea of giving quality games-and-sports facility and opportunities to the
students to excel both in academics vis-a-vis sports. Aliah University is a
member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Ministry of Youth
Affairs & Sports, GoI. Students from this university regularly participate
in inter-university and inter-college competitions.
15.4. NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC):

Aliah University strongly supports NCC training of the students, and
provides basic infrastructure to groom them into disciplined and patriotic
citizens, so that they can serve the nation from the frontiers. Students
participate in the NCC training on a voluntary basis. While pursuing their
regular course, NCC cadets undertake different training programs, such
as drill, shooting, physical fitness, map reading, first aid, and camp
training. Cadets also participate in LRDC camp every year. They obtain
NCC - B and C certificates after successful completion of the training.
15.5. SCHOLARSHIPS:
It is for information of all candidates admitted through AUAT-2023 of all
courses that Aliah University has no scholarship of its own. However,
eligible students may apply for other scholarships/fellowships as and
when applications are invited by the Government or any other
sponsoring agency. The university will only verify and help in submitting
the documents of the students for scholarship.
As M. Tech. courses run by the Aliah University are not approved by the
AICTE, no MHRD/GATE scholarship is available to the admitted students.

P32 Master of Law (LL.M.) 3-Year LLB/ Integrated LLB with 45% marks in aggregate.
Applicants must have secured minimum 50% marks in UG/ PG
Programmes in Sciences / Social Sciences / Humani es; or minimum
U32 2-Year B.Ed.** 55% marks in Engineering/Technology programmes with s
pecializa on in Science or Mathema cs.
Those who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in the year 2023 may also apply for admission.
However, they have to fulfil other admission criteria for the respective subjects, and have to submit the
mark sheet before preparation of the merit list / taking provisional admission.
20 2-Year B.Ed. Programme
i) Method subjects for 2-Year B.Ed. Programme:

(1) Arabic, (2) Bengali, (3) English, (4) Urdu, (5) Persian, (6) Islamic Theology, (7) History, (8) Geography,
(9) Physical Science, and (10) Mathematics.
Candidates, without honours or PG in the above ten method subjects, will be eligible to apply for any one
of the above subjects as the first method if they have studied at least 200 marks in that subject at the
graduation level with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
n Those applying in Physical Science as the method subject should have studied either Physics or
Chemistry as a subject of at least 200 Marks at the Graduation level.
n Candidates having Honours/PG in Statistics/Economics shall be eligible to apply and, in this case, they
shall have to take Mathematics as the method subject provided that a candidate has studied
Mathematics as a subject of at least 200 Marks at the Graduation level.
ii) Notes for 2-Year B.Ed. Programme:

n Intake Capacity of Deputed candidates from recognized High Madrasah and Sr. Madrasah of West
Bengal and Other University, as per Table No. 18 (Page No. 25).
n For fresher candidates, in case of Honours Graduate, the marks obtained in Honours Subject will be
considered. In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in General/Subsidiary/Pass subjects
will be considered.
n lf seat(s) reserved for any particular category remains vacant, it will be filled up by other category of
same method subject or may be transferred to other method subject as may be deemed fit by
competent authority.
iii) Rule for calculation of Merit Score for B.Ed. from academic results:
n % of marks obtained in class 10 x 0.2
n % of marks obtained in class (10+2) x 0.2
n % of marks obtained in UG (General) x 0.2 or % of marks obtained in UG (Honours) x 0.3
n % of marks obtained in PG x 0.3
iv) Final merit score will be calculated based on academic score and admission test
score.
21 AGE LIMIT (As on 1st July, 2023)
Upper age limit for undergraduate programmes is 22 years except for the following -
n B.A. Honours in Islamic Theology and B.A. Honours in Islamic Studies, Lateral entry into 2nd Year of
B.Tech. Programmes - 25 Years.
n 4-Year B.Sc. in Nursing - 27 years.
n Minimum age limit of 17 Years as on 31st December, 2023 will be applicable only for 4-Year B.Sc. in
Nursing programme.
Upper age limit for Postgraduate programmes is 25 years except for the following -
n M.A. in Islamic Theology, Islamic Studies, M.Tech. programmes - 27 years
n 2 Year B.Ed. programme - 30 years
n M.A. in Education - 32 years
n No upper age limit for LL.M.
Though the upper age limit is mentioned above, all the applicants applying for Undergraduate &
Postgraduate programmes who have passed qualifying examination before 2021 are not eligible to take
admission in the year 2023 except for 2-Year LL.M. programme.
22 INTERNAL CANDIDATE
Only those candidates who will complete the qualifying degree from Aliah University in the year 2023, and
those who have already completed the same from Aliah University (not earlier than 2021) and have not
migrated to any other institution, will be considered as internal candidates.
23 IMPORTANT NOTES
n For undergraduate programmes all the qualifying examinations should be from any recognized
Councils/Boards/Madrasah board, such as West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination
(WBCHSE), West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME), Central Board of Secondary Education
(New Delhi) (CBSE), Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC), etc.
n Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
n Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
n Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
with a minimum of five subjects, or H.S. Examination Conducted by W.B. Council of Rabindra Open
Schooling.
n In 2-Year LL.M. programme specialization will be business Law.
n All the Post Graduate programmes including LL.M. programme are day programme.
AT ANY STAGE, IF ANY DISCREPANCY IS FOUND, THE ADMISSION OF THE CANDIDATE WILL BE CANCELLED
AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OF FEES.
24 PATTERN OF AUAT - 2023
n Question paper of AUAT-2023 will be of 100 marks and examination duration will be of 2 Hours.
n 20% of the Questions in AUAT-2023 will on General Knowledge, General English, and Islamic History &
Culture, and 80% of the Questions will be from the respective subject.
n Question paper will consist of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQs). (Except for B.A.
(Hons.)/M.A. in Bengali, English, Arabic, and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications).
n For B.A. (Hons.)/M.A. in Bengali, English, and Arabic, and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication 80%
of the question from relevant subject (i.e., 64 marks) will be of objective type MCQ and rest 20% of the
question from relevant subject (i.e., 16 marks) will be of descriptive type.
n Questions in all papers are to be answered on a specially designed machine gradable sheet (ORS-Optical
Response Sheet) using black/blue ball point pen only.
n Question paper will be in Bengali/ English.
n Question papers will not be allowed to take out from the examination hall.
n Part-I (80 Marks) Follow the next table for detail syllabi.
n Pari-ll (20 Marks) on General Knowledge, General English and Islamic History & culture (in the ratio of
approximately 1:1:2).
25 SYLLABI
Syllabus for Core Subjects:

n All B.Tech. and BCA will be comprised of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as per syllabi of classes XI &
XIl of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) and Equivalent.
n Lateral entry to the 2nd Year of B.Tech. Programmes will comprise of Engineering Mathematics, Basic
Computer Science, Strength of Material, Engineering Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Basic
Electrical Technology and Basic Electronics Engineering.
n Integrated MBA (BBA - MBA) programme will be on basic of Mathematics, verbal and non-verbal
reasoning, Commercial Arithmetics and elementary knowledge in concerned area.
n All UG programmes (except Arabic, Urdu, Islamic Theology and Islamic studies) will be comprised of
concerned subject as per syllabi of classes XI & XII of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary
Education (WBCHSE) and Equivalent.
n Nursing Programme will comprise of Biology, Chemistry & Physics as per syllabus of
JENPARH/JENPAUH, West Bengal.
n Honours in Arabic and Urdu comprise as per Arabic and Urdu syllabi of H.S. or equivalent examination.
n B.A. Hons. in Islamic Theology and Islamic Studies comprise as per syllabi of Fazil according to West
Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME).
n B.Sc. (Hons.) in Statistics as per syllabus of classes XI & XII of Mathematics of H.S. of WBCHSE
n Masters programmes excluding MJMC will be on concerned subject.
n MJMC will be on English, Concept of language and Literature, Fundamentals of Journalism and Mass
Communication having its role as forth pillar of Indian Democracy, Sports and Cinema.
n MCA programme will be comprised of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Problem
Solving Questions, Discrete Quantitative Analysis and Basic Mathematics.
n For LL.M. Programme - based on LL.B. programme of recognised University.
n For B.Ed. Programme syllabus will be comprised of Reasoning, Teaching aptitude, General Knowledge,
and Current Affairs.
Syllabus for General English, General Knowledge, Islamic History & Culture:
n General English: Basic knowledge of vocabularies, grammar and comprehension of 10+2 level.
n General knowledge: This will be comprised of History (Medieval and Modern India), Geography,
Political Science, General Science and Current Affairs.
n Islamic History & Culture: This will be based on 10+2 level.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission Procedure in details:
Selection and admission of the candidates in Aliah University is based on the following steps.
ONLINE APPLICATION
n All candidates willing to take admission in Aliah University must apply through online mode of
application only. Link and detailed instruction will be given in the AliahUniversity website
(www.aliah.ac.in) on the scheduled date.
n Candidates are advised to follow the application guidelines thoroughly before applying online.
n After submitting the online application successfully, a confirmation sheet/application submission
form, bearing the full application summary with the photo & signature of the candidate, will be
generated by the system. Application is not complete until the confirmation sheet/application
submission form is generated.
n Candidates have to download and print the confirmation sheet/application submission form and
should preserve the same carefully.
n Photograph and signature must be maintained in proper pixel and aspect ratio.
n Candidates are advised to ensure the correctness of their complete mailing address, pin code, e-mail
address and mobile number. Please note, that the University will not be responsible if candidates could
not be reached due to incomplete or illegible address, Email Id, or mobile number.
n Select the admission test-centres in order of your preference.
n Final decision regarding allotment of the Entrance Test/Examination-Centre for AUAT-2023 will be
taken by the authority.
n Request for change of Entrance Test/Examination-centre at any stage will not be entertained.
MARKS/ MARKSHEET UPLOAD
n Candidates have to upload the required Marks/ Marksheet/ Documents during online application, but
the candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination they have to upload required Marks/
Marksheet/Documents as per the notification/application guidelines given in the Aliah University
website (www.aliah.ac.in).
ADMIT CARD
n Candidates have to download and print the admit card within the stipulated time by logging in into
admission portal by using his/her User ID and Password.
n Entrance Test/Examination venue and schedule will be mentioned in the admit card.
n No hardcopy admit-card will be sent to the candidates.
n The admit-card will bear the name, photograph, signature, address and category of the candidate along
with name and address of the Test/Examination-centre.
n The candidates advised to carefully examine the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate
should inform the AUAT office immediately.
ALIAH UNIVERSITY ADMISSION TEST (AUAT-2023)
n Candidates have to appear for the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT-2023) as per the Date, Time &
Venue mentioned in the admit-card.
n Appearing in the examination does not guarantee for admission.
n For tentative schedule please see the table (Page No.-08).
PROVISIONAL MERIT LIST
n Provisional Merit List/ Result will be published and candidates have to download and print the Rank
Card by logging in into admission portal by using his/her User Id and Password.
n A list of Successful candidates of different programmes will be displayed separately on the Aliah
University website (www.aliah.ac.in).
n Merit list will be prepared solely based on admission test score (except for 2-year B.Ed. programme).
n Separate list of successful candidates will also be prepared for the physically challenged (PC) candidates.
COUNSELLING
n Candidates having valid rank are only eligible for counselling.

n Offline Counselling: Offline Counselling will be held only for the programme codes: U21, U13 & U14.
n A general merit list will be published for U21-B.Tech. Programmes and next to get allotment, candidates
have to be present physically for offline counselling on the schedule date, time and venue to select the
specific programme (subject).
n A general merit list will be published for B.Sc. Honours in Mathematics and Statistics programmes and
next to get allotment, candidates have to be present physically for offline counselling on the schedule
date, time and venue to select the programme.
n A general merit list will be published for B.Sc. Honours in Botany/Microbiology/Zoology programmes
and next to get allotment, candidates have to be present physically for offline counselling on the
schedule date, time and venue to select the programme.
n E-Counselling: E-Counselling will be held only for the programme codes: U08 & P08.
n A general merit list will be published for U08 - B.A. Honours in Islamic Theology, and P08 - M.A. in Islamic
Theology. E-counselling will be done to select the study centre.
n If candidates are not allotted in his/her 1st choice, we will consider his/her 2nd choice (if given by
him/her and this process will continue until his/her last choice.
n The choice submitted by the candidates during application/counselling will be processed and a seat will
be allotted based on merit/rank, if available.
n Taking part in Counselling process does not guarantee the admission.
n In case any candidate fails to attend the Counselling process being present physically, his/her
candidature will be cancelled.
n Any decision taken by the conducting authority in regard to any issue related to counselling will be deemed
as final.
n The list of eligible candidates to attend the offline counselling/ e-counselling, schedule, procedure,
venue and other relevant details will be made available on Aliah University website (www.aliah.ac.in).
PROVISIONAL ALLOTMENT LIST
n Provisional Allotment list will be published at the scheduled date. Candidates have to follow regularly
the Aliah University website for the same (www.aliah.ac.in).
n Candidates who will be enlisted in the provisional allotment list only can pay the admission fees online.
n The allotment offered at the counselling is only a provisional allotment.
n All the available seats will be considered for allotment.
ONLINE PAYMENT FOR ADMISSION
n Candidates will be informed about the schedule of online payment for admission along with the
provisional allotment list. Within that scheduled date & time candidates will have to pay the admission
fee through online mode only.
n Candidates are advised to check once again the eligibility criteria for the applied programme before
making payment for the admission. If any candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility criteria, his/her
admission will be cancelled and there will be no refund of fees.
n After paying the fees online candidates must have to take a printout of the payment receipt.
n In any case, if the candidate fails to pay the admission fee, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
n At any stage of admission procedure if any discrepancy is found, the admission of the candidate will be
cancelled and there will be no refund of fees.

please visit the Aliah University website https://www.aliah.ac.in/fee-payment
DOCUMENTS VERIFICATION & FINAL ADMISSION
n After paying the admission fee, candidates have to be present physically at the specified venue on the
scheduled date and time, with photocopy of all the required documents, along with their originals for
verification. Admission fee-payment-receipt also has to be submitted to complete the admission process.
n All admission will be provisional. Admission through AUAT-2023 will stand cancelled at any stage of the
admission process if the candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility criteria.
n All admissions are subject to verification of particulars from the original admit card, original mark
sheet/grade card and other documents of the candidates.
n During document-verification, if the personal data submitted by the candidate at the time of online
registration/application is found to be false, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.
n AT ANY STAGE IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS IF ANY DISCREPANCY IS FOUND, AND IF THE CANDIDATE
FAILS TO SATISFY THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, THE ADMISSION OF THE CANDIDATE WILL BE CANCELLED
AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OF ANY FEES.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR DOCUMENT-VERIFICATION/FINAL ADMISSION
The following documents in original & two sets of self-attested photocopies are required at the time of
final admission/document-verification.
1. Confirmation Sheet/submitted application form.
2. Rank Card.
3. Payment receipt/admission fees receipt.
4. Two copies of recent passport size colour photograph.
5. Anti-ragging undertaking (format will be made available on Aliah University website: www.aliah.ac.in)
of parent and candidate both in non-judicial Rs. 10/- stamp paper duly affirmed in front of an Oath
Commissioner.
6. All original Marksheets & Certificates of class X, XII and Graduation (wherever applicable).
7. Admit card of 10th level.
8. Proof of age: 10th standard admit card/10th standard certificate/birth certificate.
9. PC/PwD certificate in original (if applicable).
10. Migration certificate for Other-State candidates (UG programmes) and all PG candidates, if he/she
has previously studied in any another University.
11. Transfer certificate or college leaving certificate issued by the college. No other certificate in lieu of
this will be accepted (if applicable).
12. Character certificate to be obtained on the college letter head/pad, no other certificate in lieu of this
will be accepted.
13. Residential proof (Voter Card/Aadhar Card)/Residential certificate from competent authority.
14. Physical Fitness certificate (only for BSc in Nursing programme): Candidates have to submit a Physical
Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed format (this will be made
available on Aliah University website: www.aliah.ac.in).
Candidates will be allowed to take admission into BSc in Nursing programme only if they are found
physically fit to pursue the programme at Aliah University.
AT ANY STAGE IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS IF ANY DISCREPANCY IS FOUND, AND IF THE
CANDIDATE FAILS TO SATISFY THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, THE ADMISSION OF THE CANDIDATE
WILL BE CANCELLED AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OF ANY FEES.
ALL ADMISSION WILL BE PROVISIONAL. ADMISSION THROUGH AUAT 2023 WILL STAND
CANCELLED IF THE CANDIDATE FAILS TO SATISFY THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AT ANY STAGE.
ALL ADMISSIONS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION OF PARTICULARS FROM THE ORIGINAL

MARK SHEET/GRADE CARD AND OTHER DOCUMENTS OF THE CANDIDATE.
27
RESERVATION OF SEATS
27.1. Physically Challenged (PC) Candidates /Person with Disability (PwD)

4 % seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the PC/PwD category, who are otherwise fit to pursue
any programme. For any category of disability (viz., orthopaedic, visual, speech, and/or hearing), benefit
would be given to those candidates who have at least 40 % permanent physical impairment in relation to a
body part/ system/extremity/extremities/ whole body, etc.
The candidates in this category will be required to submit a certificate of impairment from the competent authority.
NB: After the last counselling if any reserved seat/seats remain vacant, the University will fill up the vacant
seat/seats from GEN category strictly from the merit list, or vice versa.
27.2. For Nursing programme: for disabled candidates:

5% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the
lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed
for nursing programme.
Further, it has also been resolved by INC that a committee to be framed considering of medical officers
authorized by medical board of the State Government and a Nursing Expert in the panel which may decide
whether the candidates have the disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%.
27.3. General:
The category of a candidate other than PC/PwD and is hereby termed as General category.
NB: After the last counselling if any reserved seat/seats remain vacant, the University will fill up the vacant
seats from PC category strictly from the merit list, or vice versa.
27.4. Students from Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh:

Students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh may take admission in Aliah University under Prime
Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) in 2023-24, 10 supernumerary seats are available in
B.Tech. Programmes with a limit of two seats per branch and 10% supernumerary seats are available in
B.Sc. Nursing programme.
27.5. Students from WBJEE (For B.Tech. only):

20% of the seats in each of B. Tech. Programmes are reserved for candidates from WBJEE-2023 merit list.
27.6. Students from JELET (for lateral entry to the 2nd year of B. Tech. Programmes only):
2 seats in each of B. Tech. Programmes are reserved for candidates with valid JELET rank.
27.7. For all the Post Graduate programmes (except M.A. in Education) 80% seats
will be reserved for internal candidates.
27.8. For M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication the division of seats are 50%
for BA JMC/Media Science/Film Studies, 25% for Science/Engineering and 25% for
Humanities/Social Sciences.
27.9. The seats reserved for internal candidates may be filled from the list of
external candidates if the list of internal candidates exhaust, and vice-versa.
28. MERIT SCORE CALCULATION
Merit calculation will be solely on the basis of Aliah University Admission Test - 2023 score, except for 2-Year
B.Ed. programme.
For B.Ed. programme, Final merit score will be calculated based on Aliah University Admission Test - 2023
score, and academic score.
29. ENTRANCE TEST CENTRES

Probable Aliah University Admission Test - 2023 Venues:
1. AUAT-2023 for 4-Year B.Sc. in Nursing and 2-Year B.Ed. programme will be conducted only at
Kolkata Centre (Aliah University Campus/Campuses).
2. AUAT-2023 for other UG programmes will be conducted only at a few strategically located towns in
West Bengal as listed below. Candidates have to choose any two centres as first and second choice.
3. AUAT-2023 for all PG programmes will be conducted only at Kolkata Centre (Aliah University
Campus/Campuses)
