*For the spring 2020 term, Valencia College included plus and minus grades for satisfactory and
unsatisfactory grades. Satisfactory and unsatisfactory grades are not computed in the grade point
average. S+ grades are equivalent to a grade of C or better and counts as credits earned in a
degree program. S- grades are equivalent to a grade of D and could count towards a degree
program or elective.

**R20 grades may be issued during declared emergencies. R20 grades are not computed in the
grade point average or used to satisfy degree requirements.

Academic Terms: Valencia operates on a semester system.

Transfer Credits: All undergraduate transfer credit, and credit awarded for examinations, including proficiency and challenge examinations, or earn credit through
testing administered by institutional faculty and approved by academic department are shown on the student record. An “X” before a subject prefix indicates a “non-
equivalent” transfer to a course.

Repeated Courses: A course in which a grade of “D” or “F” has been earned may be repeated. Multiple credit courses may be repeated for credit. (See course attempts
and withdrawals in the college catalog for repeatable courses.) Courses taken beginning fall of 1997 may only be attempted a maximum of three times for grade
forgiveness. Bachelor’s degree programs are limited to two course repeats for grade forgiveness for bachelor’s equivalent level courses that are transferred in or taken at
Valencia College.

Incomplete Grades: Coursework for a grade of “I” earned in one semester must be completed and the grade changed by the end of semester. Failure to change an “I”
grade to a grade of “A”, “B”, “C”, or “D” may result in a grade of “F”.

Course Type: I= include: courses that are included in the GPA calculation; E= exclude: courses excluded from GPA calculation. Blank space = courses that are
included in the overall GPA calculation.
