    Read each statement and say if it is true or false.

    1.1 The tropic of capricorn is in the northern hemisphere.


    1.2 The earth resolves on its axis once every 24 hours.
    1.3 The earth rotates from west to east.
    1.4 The south African Standard time is one hour ahead of the Coordinated
    Universal Time.
    1.5 Winter soltice for the northern hemisphere is on 21 or 22 December.
    1.6 World time differs from place to place because countries are on
    different lines of longitude.
    1.7 The line of longitude at 180°is called the equator.

    2.6.1 Which hemisphere is experiencing summer solstice in fig 2.1.

    2.7 Study Figure 2.2 and answer the following questions.
